...good casting. strong plot. Seasons 1-2 on NFLX, with Season 3 coming in mid-Fall.
Others have been mentioned already:
Narcos
Peaky Blinders
Better Call Saul - a must if you liked Breaking Bad.
This show is funny, upbeat, and a good palette cleanser after GoT. 2 seasons on Netflix. It's about Kristen Bell's character, Eleanor, waking up to find herself in the afterlife called "The Good Place", a perfect paradise community run by Ted Dansen's character, Michael. Only problem was Eleanor doesn't deserve to be there. She was an asshole on Earth and she has to figure out how to try to fit into this community of selfless, morally perfect people while hiding her true identity.
I also just finished Parks & Rec. All 7 seasons on Netflix. Pretty funny all the way around. Like most sitcoms, really hits its stride in the later seasons. Plenty of callback jokes. Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pratt are awesome and Ron Swanson is my spirit animal.
Wu Assassins, Umbrella Academy, New Sabrina, Stranger Things, Sense 8, Black Mirror, 13 Reasons Why, On My Block, Love Death & Robots just to name a few. If you’re into anime I suggest Baki, kenshan ashura, Ultraman, Hunter x Hunter, Godzilla 1,2,3; I’ll list more later
Yes, she was very good as Kimmy on The Americans! Â
I think it's just going to be a miniseries, but I thought it was pretty hilarious. It's a semi-biographical comedy about a guy in Japan who goes from an encyclopedia salesman to a porn director who pushes the limits.
And a completely different character too, so naive and sheltered where Ruth is so, well, ruthless.
Might now be your thing but she's in "Dirty John" with Eric Bana and Connie Britton - its based on the podcast that came out a couple years back. First and foremost, Connie is unreal hot but the actress that plays Ruth is in it (Connie Britton's daughter) and shes just as good in it playing a SoCal girl.
Danny McBride, John Goodman, Walt Goggins, and more, I hope it doesn't suck.
Anything Jody Hill/Danny Mcbride I'm down. Footfist Way, Eastbound and Down, Vice Principals, I even like Observe and Report (an underrated dark comedy).
popular given the much lesser stuff the masses eat up. Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Sam Neill, Aiden Gillen, Adrien Brody all fantastic, and the lesser known names (to me) are great - the brothers, Aunt Pol...great show
a few repeat names:
Better Call Saul
Narcos
Ozark
Bloodline
Longmire - particularly if you like westerns
A few others:
Turn - American Revolution Spies...loved it
Marco Polo - also very underrated IMO
Sherlock - long eps, a bit 'thinky,' but I enjoyed the first 2-3 seasons
Frontier - the criminal world of fur pelts, pretty good
Ripper Street - post Jack-the-Ripper cop...
The Last Kingdom - sort of related to the story in 'Vikings,' entertaining
Damnation - only 1 season but liked it a lot fwiw, even tho it ends on a season cliffhanger then got cancelled. Western
Battle Creek - Dean Winters in a cop comedy. It's a decent light watch
if you like Ricky Gervais, he has a few shows on netflix right now Â
After Life - he plays a writer for a free local newspaper and his wife just died. it's a drama with a lot of funny bits. sweet and honest
Derek- plays an autistic man working at an old folks home in london. Absolutely great show, Funny, sweet, great message. i've gained huge respect for gervais as an actor.
Extras-(Just started this one) His early work from 2006, plays an actor trying to get work as an extra. Great cameos from real life actors, like Kate Winslet and Ben Stiller.
First 3-4 seasons were good before they went off the deep end. But we decided to continue with the originals that show I enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would. Then we started the third show legacies oh boy it’s like they merged the last few seasons of vampire diaries with the librarians couple episodes in and there’s already been a dragon and a gargoyle running around. Not my cup of tea but she likes it so I’ll bear with it.
RE: Altered Carbon if you’re into Science Fiction Â

...if you haven't watched it - SKIP the first episode though - Season 1, episode 1 would make most viewers never watch again, but it's one of my favorite ever series, in the tradition of Twilight Zone, will scramble your egg good!
!
You think? I was absolutely onboard after watching that episode. Unfortunately I haven't watched many since, but mostly because of too many other damn things to watch.
2 seasons in so far..quick watch.. incredible acting, incredible story...
One of my 2 favorite shows of all time already, with The Leftovers being the other.
Leftovers definitely in my top 5 shows ever, possibly higher. I enjoyed the OA. It was just cancelled, however.
At first...you ruined my night...
But I don't buy that it's really canceled. I'm going with the fan theory that it's a stunt... Too good of a show, reviews too strong.. it can't be over.
started Altered Carbon, real interesting sci-fi. It was already on the list. As was Godless, tho I haven't gotten there yet
Roman thanks for "The Good Place." Someone suggested it once but this got me to try it. Cheesy, sitcom and all, but pretty mutha-forkin' funny. Ep 1 just 5 min in, the good & bad actions ledger Ted Danson explains is fantastic. "Fix a tricycle for a kid who is indifferent to tricycles...+0.04. Being a Yankee fan...-101.01"
I'm not a big lol-er yet this has it's moments & so far, end of ep 3 was hysterical
Does anyone know if Stranger Things will be back? Â
I thought it was awful. Kept waiting - all the positive stuff I've read, figured it would improve. Nope. Terrible season, I'm done.
Stupid, Scooby Doo predictable plotlines, atrocious writing and acting though the multidimensional lava vagina was intriguing and a good analogy of the giant stinking, flaming queef that season was.

I love that factory. What the fuck to they make in there that it belches fire into the street every 15 seconds?
I always wonder that too. I thought it was car parts.
It's a show about a post WW1 crime family in Birmingham, England
4 seasons so far, with a 5th supposedly to be released this month.
I second this. Great show. Longmire is really good as well. Highway through hell (??) Was also good

I don't associate Shameless with Netflix, but definitely.
Nervous how they will deal with the departure of two of my favorites.

Highly recommended!

Ozark
Peaky Blinders
Dark: Good sci fi, a little hard to follow, but we've watched it sporadically
Bloodline
Schitt's Creek: My girlfriend and I found it hilarious
She was AWESOME in Ozark. Seriously evil, that one!
Absolutely, she steals the show. Fantastic.

Good call, she is the most interesting character whenever she is on screen.

I think that’s amazon
Castlevania is a fun series, it's animated but not a kid show.
Previously mentioned.....Peaky Blinders and Altered Carbon both great shows.
I recently started watching Rake, enjoyed the 1st season so far.

Ill watch it it's back, but expect not too much. I feel like each season was worse than the last.
