3rd day picks and undrafted free agents who contribute this

season. I'm looking for the diamonds in the rough and want to read everyone's opinions on this years rookies other than the 1st and 2nd round draft picks - those who you expect to contribute on the field at some point this season. On offense, I'm looking at Slayton and possibly Conrad. They both have a lot of competition for playing time if they do make the team. On defense, there are a few. Connelly looks like he might work his way into the starting lineup later this season or next season. Ballentine and Love should make the team and contribute off the bench. Carlock is the wild card - everyone loves Jake, but he has a long road to make the team.

I would also keep an eye on Paul Adams, James O'Hagan, Alex Wesley, and Reggie White Jr. over the final three preseason games.

If you go back and include last year it's pretty impressive

Haley, Tae Davis, McIntosh, Evan Brown and Sean Chandler are still around from last year. Gates, Chris Slayton, Conolly, Darius Slayton, Big George O'Hagan and the WRs and DBs from this year. I would think PS for most of those who don't make the 53.

It is critical, not an afterthought.

And whats with the "mascot" crap. Constant repetition makes you seem like a 5-year old.

DeOssie is most definitely not the reason we have been losers. And is not a major pay vs. performance problem.

How any fan can suggest cutting DeOssie after what happened with Trey Junkin in 2002 is beyond me. DeOssie is a team leader and pro bowl caliber LS and you want to cut him for a guy who had 1 good preseason game?

Have you actually seen Carlock as a long snapper? Probably not so you don't have any idea what you're talking about. Carlock could make the team but it won't be over DeOssie. Stupar needs to perform well of Carlock could take his roster spot.

LS is absolutely critical. You really have to think hard about replacing an LS like DeOssie... And I think his coverage play on punts has declined considerably since his pro bowl days.

But he makes a difference to Rojas.

Trey Junkins is risk aversion and fear of failure with a limited amount of roster space resources. Might as well keep two punters because of Matt Dodge. That 53rd roster spot could be a Victor Cruz.
