unlikely unless a former star LB or edge rusher is brought in on a team friendly 2-year contract and they try to get one more productive year out of him. This year’s Conner Barwin?
actually seems to be pretty intriguing. A lot of young guys got a lot of practice time while AB was out and made the most of it. I think someone with legit talent and potential will shake loose.
Looking for players cut from the Cards, Raiders and Browns. How about finding players from team that did well in the playoffs. Better yet, how about developing our own
RE: I think the Browns have more WRs than they can keep Â
They brought in Mitch Morse, Cody Ford, Spencer Long, Jon Feliciano, Ty Nsekhe, and Quinton Spain this offseason to fortify the line. If one of them don't make the team or a guy like Wyatt Teller is cut they might be solid options for the Giants as long as a team like Arizona doesn't claim them first.

Yes, but it is worth noting that A) we're sixth in priority; and B) the Giants claimed the most players out of any NFL team last year on Cut Day. Gettleman is clearly not adverse to adding "castoffs" shortly before the season.
Not knocking picking up players who can’t make other teams. And I’m not totally serious. But I’d rather picking up players from teams like the Patriots or other good teams. I was reacting to picking up players from teams that had worse records than the Giants. I understand it’s not that simple

Fair enough
I don't understand why people knock players claimed off waivers Â
In 2007 the Giants claimed Kevan Boothe, Madison Hedgecock, and Domenik Hixon off waivers after teams cut down to 53 and all three played roles moving forward.
I remember the reaction when they claimed Boothe. The Raiders had one of the league's worst offensive lines and they cut Boothe so many here were very unhappy with the decision. Boothe ended up being a solid contributor and even started for the team for couple of seasons including the 2011 season.

I remember having to write Hedgec0ck on some forums because his actual name was blocked.
We have lots of guys with the talent to be 4th and 5th receivers already. What we lack is a #1, which you won't find on cut day. What you might find on the waiver wire is depth somewhere where you need it. OL depth is one of the most glaring nees on the current roster, and one that you might reasonably fill off the waiver wire.

Sure, but if you have the opportunity to replace a 4th or 5th receiver with an equal but much younger/potentially cheaper option, why not do it? Most of our potential end of depth chart receivers aren't exactly spring chickens.
with our bottom of the roster guys. OL - Lol good luck finding anyone of value that shakes loose. LB - could definitely use some upgrades here inside and outside. S - could use an upgrade here as well.
The man is obnoxious, but who cares if he builds a winner.
So far he seems to have the team moving in the right direction. Jury is still out though. He's had a few bad moves, but far more good than bad.
The most important thing he has done is purge the roster. That definitely needed to be done. And in doing so, he has created uber cap space for next year.
Then you have several other promising WRs like Pharoah Cooper and Trent Sherfield. I really like the latter.

It really feels like we have bodies This year vs the last 8
I agree.
