You already have Tate and Sterling Shepard, but beyond that it is murky. Latimer is a coaching favorite, QB’s seem to have a rapport with Fowler, Russell Shepard has made plays on coverage teams, Alonzo Russell gives 110% whenever he is on the field, T.J. Jones has made plays this preseason, Brittan Golden actually looks like our best returner but really has not shown much at WR going against the same opponents that Jones and Alonzo Russell have, and then there is Darius Slayton. Even with Tate’s suspension you still are in a numbers game.

Yup, Tyke Tolbert is once again doing a great job getting the average guys ready to play hard and make the plays that are there to be made.

I agree that Tate, SS, Latimer and Fowler seem to be the top 4...and assuming Slayton gets his chance to get healthy, that likely leaves 1 remaining spot for Shepard, Russell, Jones, Golden, and the other guys to fight for.

wow, a young team with depth who would have thunk it

I had to tape the game, haven’t seen the second half. What did Alonzo do that made him stand out? I see he only caught one pass for 4 yards, so it had to be something else.

although Simonson had a good block the 1st series he seems to drop a few.

Engram, Ellison, Conrad....not sure we keep 4 if we keep 7 WRs. Stash one on PS and bring him up when we get an injury.
Between Tate’s suspension and the inevitable bumps and bruises...

... the WR competition might not require any really painful choices in September. And by the time Tate returns, somebody else may have gotten dinged or earned a ticket to the waiver wire. Behind Tate, Shepard and Latimer (and possibly Slayton), the Giants have a bunch of Work-hard types who would have a good chance of clearing waivers - either in September or when Tate returns - and returning on the practice squad. Most of them have been waived at least once in their careers.
I haven't heard of any significant injuries. I hope that's true

Called this an up and down performance. I’ll agree the he had two turnovers, but cmon if this was any other top ten pick, you would hear the praise all over.

I don’t expect them to gush over Jones performance. After all, they still want to save face for mocking this pick.

What will be comical this week is probably no talking head will criticize the MUrray pick...like say he might be too short, etc. watch...

He caught the defender from behind whom otherwise would have had a pick 6

Hamilton left midway through, pretty sure that was it, and there was no immediate sigh it was serious
I should have excluded Fowler and Jones from the waiver speculation.
Big Blue Blogger : 8/17/2019 8:45 am : link
They have four years accrued, so no need to clear waivers. I doubt Fowler is in immediate jeopardy anyway, as long as he stays healthy. He might have to worry when Tate returns, if younger receivers show promise. My guess is that they go vet-heavy in September (Maybe keeping both Fowler and Jones), then start migrating the rookies from the practice squad after Tate comes back.

Tanney threw an interception near the goal line and the defensive player who intercepted it from the bears was gone. Looked like it was a sure TD going the other way. Out of nowhere Russell comes up and made the tackle around mid field. The bears subsequently scored, but Russell showed hustle and speed.

Any one know why he only get a few snaps this game?

He looked pretty decent getting some penetration near the goaline shooting the C gap. Also, got under the right tackle on a run play and nearly tripped up the ball carrier. Any insight would be appreciated. I was thinking he may have been dinged up but then I saw him out there for the last few plays of the game
