I would say looking at this team it would be nice if we could trade for a pass rushing DE. A guy with experience I am not sure we can find one but to me it is the missing piece. I like what I see from the defense but more pressure would be nice.
to waste a year of Barkley shelf live. I think the Giants have a very good Oline and it will come down to defense and I just don't see where the pressure will come from. Rather try and figure it out now. Look the Pats find pieces that fit cheaply just need to look at a couple cheap vets that maybe can help.
Things are looking up, but there are going to be weak spots. And WR and DE are looking like weak spots. If DG keeps it up we could be in a really good spot in a couple of years.
Is looking for an identity. Olgetree and Jenkins are not it. Hill, Lawrence, Tomlinson could become the leaders but need time to grow into that. It took Strahan a bit of time.
fixes the WR issue. I like what we have in the middle of the Dline just need a Vet dlineman that can add pressure. I think the DBs are good and the safeties. So I think it can be done. We have a ton of DBs so we will see what happens.
I don't worry about the pass rush as much as others. The way O is played now the ball is out of the qb's hands in less than 2.5 seconds.
If a qb gets sacked now he is holding the ball too long. That may well be a function of good coverage by the back seven.
The key is for our lbs and safeties to be able to cover TEs and Rbs out of the backfield. If we can improve in that area the team will be much more competitive then in past years imo.
We still need to find competent backup OTs and OGs for our starting OL. Should one or more go down then it will be a cluster.
They can address needs in FA next year without giving up draft collateral. But if a trade is considered now, then I would hope Yannick Ngakoue could be had. He is a luxury in Jax with Josh Allen in the fold, and he is unhappy with his contract. He is a legit stud and will get D-Law money. If he could be had without competing on the open FA market next year, then they should do it.
The starting pash rush isn't terrible. No depth as of now, but Carter Â
and Golden look okay. The biggest issue right now with the starting defense is the communication errors in the back 7. Pretty awful, but to be expected with so many new pieces and youth.
Covering tight ends for years, we continue to have trouble holding contain to the outside. That I would think is largely a coaching issue of making sure guys stay in their lanes
WHy can't you show one second of patience? If you are going to trade for a pass rusher- you'll have to trade your youth. Why would you want to do that?
Why not wait and see if any can grow into pass rushers or see if Golden can produce or see if the young guys like Hill or Carter etc can do something to alleviate dumping os many players or spending an extreme amount?
Just relax and see what evolves this season. Then next year with lots of cap space and further drafts - we're loaded for bear provided that the team progresses this year.

Good point re OL needs. They are real and important.

But backup OL is a need for every team.

Esp for goal line and short yardage sits

I think you might be surprised by these receivers
