How well is our o-line pass blocking...

M.S. : 8/17/2019 12:24 pm
...and not just the first team?

Well, last year after two pre-season games the Giants amassed 311 passing yards, vs. 624 yards this pre-season!

That's a doubleton.

Stats are always up for interpretation, and pre-season stats even more so, but something just jumps off the screen this year: The interior pocket is amazingly clean.

Mercy, haven't seen that in years!
I am really

Excited about this offensive line, especially Hernandez and Zeitler at the guard positions. They are going to give Eli time to make throws and create running lanes for Barkley. The offensive line is going to be one of the biggest differences this year.

I know some are down on the depth, but I have seen some positive things from the depth players too
I thought the OL was dominant last night,

and not just the first team.
Theyve given us reason for optimism IMO

The past 2 weeks Ive seen clean pockets and open rushing lanes. Its a breath of fresh air. Im all about tempering the enthusiasm but its hard to not get excited thinking about Barkley behind this line.
Watched the game

with entire family and everyone was amazed by how stark the difference was. The entire offense looks better when the likes of Ereck Flowers and Bobby Hart aren’t out there. The running backs had holes to run through as well. My uncle screamed “Was that a hole?!” Lol
Complete fucking travesty

The Hand of God had to face the constant jailbreak behind the LOS defenders last year.

Imagine if SB had the holes Tiki, Jacobs, Bradshaw, Ward ran through , the OL lifting up Ray Lewis and setting him aside like a small child.
Just waiting til the real bullets fly next month

The Oline play

got me wondering if they actually looked good or did Rod Smith (RB) look good last night? Hopefully it's both.

Anyone else impressed by Smith so far?

I disagree. The O line looked terrible last preseason, and it carried over to the regular season.
I disagree as well

When the line was bad it absolutely showed up in preseason, that being said all I really care about is the current 5 staying healthy....if they do that I think the Giants can do good things with that unit.
Pre Season Game Results

Mean nothing. Thy said, to say pre season games are worthless is ignorant. What you can see in the pre season are your individual players fundamentals. Woth regards to the OL, I love seeing how they are protecting (even against vanilla defenses, they are protecting better then the past few preseasons. Seeing players drove opponents off the ball is an example of good coaching. So while pre season means “nothing” it actually means a lot of you know the game of football. Sadly a lot of people here do not
Keep in mind

the Giants' 1s were playing against the Bears' 2s.

They damn well better be dominant.
