I know Connelly had a relatively quiet night on Friday, but he looks like a player. Quick to diagnose, plays with reckless abandon, smart, physical. I really don't know what Ogletree really does that well? He seems like a JAG to me. Outside of the Bear game last year, I can't remember him making any impact whatsoever.
Thoughts?
That would be impressive for Trouba to play for the Rangers and the Giants.
Da fuck? Haha, automatic post subject
Agree and I think Connelly may turn out to be a good one. I'd slow down on replacing Ogletree as a starter just yet.
Ogletree gets dinged, Connelly comes in a Wally Pips him.
Otherwise, Ogletree has some value and intangibles you don't necessarily trust a rookie mid-round pick to have when real bullets are flying.
Connelly looks like he could be a gamer, lets hope that plays out.
Should be plenty of snaps to go around to all the linebackers, and its up to Connelly to show, as the season goes on, that he deserves to be on the field more.
Sometimes I’m not sure if I’m watching the same game as some of you.
He's very often trailing his man in coverage and a step late. My guess is he often misdiagnoses plays and assignments.
Landon Collins alluded to the linebackers making a lot of mistakes in coverage and Collins having to bail them out, then getting the flack from the media for losing his man.
We'll see this year if Peppers kind of suffers the same thing.
..But he did miss at least one tackle in that game, maybe two.
That was a knock on him soon after we drafted him, Tackling. Let's hope he improves that cus he has instinct and other talents seemingly.

But the other ILB spot is up for grabs. Connelly vs. Tae Davis. Goodson seems to be on the outs.

I guess you weren't arrogant after all...
-OT Chad Wheeler, TE Scott Simonson, LB Ryan Connelly
The ogletree JAG comment is just dumb. He’s a quality starting defender, definitely above average.

Collins said that? Sheesh.
