With all the reminiscing about the Woodstock 50th, I couldn't let Peter Fonda's passing go unmentioned. His Easy Rider was just as much a cultural icon as the 3 Days of Peace and Music.
When he and Dennis Hopper came up with the idea of Motorcycle-Cowboys looking for America (or the Mardi Gras, or for whatever) they created a touchstone of the times. He found a place located somewhere between Roger Corman and John Ford, and claimed it.
Screenwriter Terry Southern turned their rough outline into a working Script. Even though a large portion of the dialogue in the movie is improvised ( Venusians ? The Man is at the Window ?? ), the screenplay was Oscar nominated. Jack Nicholson even suggested some songs for the Soundtrack. They talked some studio into a $350K bankroll, and rode off into the desert to invent a new movie genre.
Great line from the movie --"Share this when you're with the right people."
Fonda 100% said it on twitter. He later apologized and deleted the tweet but it was disgusting and vulgar (like much of twitter).
RIP
I started it and deleted it b/c of that asshole poster. Who may no doubt show up here again.
Don't worry, I don't have anything else too add on this.

Like a fly to shit.
I left the family's politics out of it....just Peter's catalog of work. No doubt, his last name opened some doors for him. He has some other films to his credit in his later years, like Ulee's Gold.

I’m glad you started another post. The shitbag poster kicked a person who had just died for one of Fonda’s tweets and I decided to delete my thread.
His sister isn't any better.
I thought you meant people with foot fetishes at first, good correction.
So you are calling yourself shit? LOL
