Can Shurmur develop low round QBs? If he can

then can we get the kind of trade return that the Pats have gotten over the years?

2017: Traded Garoppolo (drafted in 2nd) for a 2nd (supposedly could have gotten more).

2017: Traded Brissett, drafted in 3rd, got Phillip Dorsett (drafted in 1st) in return.

2014: Traded Ryan Mallet (a 3rd round pick) and a 7th for Devin Lucien and Deatrich Wise

2009: Traded Matt Cassel (a 7th rounder) for a 2nd which they used to get Patrick Chung

Much better than cutting your backup when he doesn't work out.

Let him develop DJ

got legitimate playing time in the regular season or preseason.

With Jones on the roster it will be tough to develop the others.

The prep and execution of the QBs looks night and day this year.

The abilities of QB prep between Shurmur and McAdoo is crystal clear.

All of the QBs look crisp, confident, and productive. Under the previous character, the starter sometimes looked lost in pre season.

Generally true but IIRC Kurt Warner was the 3rd QB on the Rams when he got the job in St. Louis due to injury.
