With Cut Day a few weeks away, just curious who were your favorite Giants who never played a regular season game for the Giants.
James Jones - If only...
Kyle Bosworth - biggest mistake letting him go
Rhett Bomar - legendary gunslinger
Devin Taylor
Kelcy Quarles - I actually thought he'd be good
Had a decent senior year, but slipped to the 6th Round. Thought he would have made a nice back up.
Fun stuff when it happens but I don't have a 'favorite' in this category. It's more like will 'o the wisp nostalgia.
Brown over McManus sucks in hindsight
He made the team.
Yes! The Arizona wunderkind

Hmm, my bad. I didn't remember that. I remember the year he was having a great camp and he ruptured his achilles (?) during a preseason game.

He was on the team the year (2006) before he ruptured his Achilles (2007)
He played mostly special teams, but managed to catch 5 passes.
Never came back from the Achilles
I'm going back to probably late 80's with a incredibly small receiver/returner named Gary "The Flea' Harrell. I remember some draft 'expert' talking about him like he was some super hero. "That is what the flea can do".
He was Derek Wake with the Giants.
Something still seems suspicious to me about Wake. Gets cut in Giants training camp, disappears to Canada, joins the CFL, comes back three years later the second coming of Michael Strahan.
Unusual career path, to say the least.
Made the team and played for the Giants.
Practice squad, then that bad injury. IIRC, we were still able to trade him and get a pick back.
Nope, he was traded after a year on the PS and a year on NFI list.
Well he technically made the 53 man roster but was traded the same day.
Great call on Buddy Dial
He actually made the team for a short period of time as a RB, iirc
Had a 2000 yard rushing season, if I'm remembering it correctly.

Come on, if it was up to MiS we would have drafted Shurron Pierson.
Williams was cut in an apparent training-camp mix-up. Went on play 11 years for the Cards, Oilers, Raiders and Niners.
Mowatt stepped up the next year, followed by Bavaro, so the Williams snafu didn’t matter much in the long run.
I don't know if technically he ever made a team or not with his injuries and how they were handled from a transaction standpoint.
He never even made it to a training camp and sure the legend is maybe more than he would have become, but I was really looking forward to his Giants career.

That news was brutal.
He finished his career with an overall record of 55-5, 35 starts, 253 tackles, 95 quarterback pressures and 34.5 total sacks. His sack total currently ranks him 2nd on the all-time UM career sack list.
You may be referring to Da'Rel Scott, though I'm pretty sure he actually made them team. Fits your description though.
Da'Rel Scott I believe.
