gel that my barber used to sell called Stephan Stay-Styled Gel. It's on Amazon but I get a better deal buying it in bulk from a barber supply website. My hair needs something or it sticks straight up but I don't like the super-hold gel or pomade.
I ended up with Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Shaping Cream. I love the stuff. you can put it on dry hair and make it look like you are using product or put it on wet hair and after blow drying, it looks pretty natural.
is the lack of a slimy/wet look to it. Yet, it doesn't provide a sloppy "just got out of bed" look either. It provides a neat, professional hold, without looking shiny and wet.
Tab the size of a quarter in the palm of your hand, rub in , tossle and leave it, or comb once and done.

I have soft hair so I use the forming cream. It's for high hold / high shine.
