Giants are 31st. What a joke. I'm really excited this season to see a much improved team. We lack depth but I see a lot of potential if they stay healthy. I think we finally see meaningful games in December this year.
How could they have the Redskins above the Giants?

I think the offense is going to be really good, especially with a solid offensive line.
Right now I'd have them 16-20ish. Can be better is defense comes together.
People put too much stock into OBJ and OV being gone and don't look at the overall picture. Those two players have missed a TON of games over the past 2 years. Those two players leaving allowed the team to get better at several other spots.
But, the good thing of starting at the bottom is that there is only one way to go;).
To me, its NBA thinking; its all about the stars. The NFL is not the NBA (thank God); this is a TEAM sport; takes contributions from all 22 to win, but I guess that's easy to miss for some.
The Giants have sucked for 6 years and earned their criticism...but what’s strange is the blame for the past 6 years lies with the previous regime, who was ousted.
Yet, all these outlets love to bash the current regime for the Giants shitty record. While treating guys like Marc Ross as informed experts.
I really just think they hate Gettleman because he has no interest in being buddies with the media
Personally I expect us to be better this year, but it's totally fair to rank us 31st at this point.
This preseason feels vastly different from preseasons of the past few years.
The last few years I watched and thought to myself man this entire roster is dog shit.
Now I watch and say we are trending upward. I bet we finish anywhere from 8-8 to 10-6. Weak schedule, better culture, and an oline that can block. Hell with a horrendous team/locker room last year we easily could have been 8-8. EASILY.

The Giants deserve their ranking. On paper they've had two good drafts in a row, but that means little at this point as they still have a poor record over the last several seasons. When the team starts winning games and beating up other teams, then their ranking will climb.
Not to mention, preseason rankings mean little.
They don't mean anything but I think the Giants deserve more respect. It's just something to talk about.
Yet
How long has it been since the Giants had a good LB? They have 3 huge DL but do they have a LB that will fill the lanes? I like our secondary though.
It would be horrendous. Last season, Jacksonville was 4th in their Power Rankings
Oh and it is a preseason power ranking, which is about as useful as a PFT player ranking.
Put a narrative out there, “Gettleman doesn’t know what he s doing” support it with bias facts spun to fit your narrative and it s amazing what legs that narrative can grow
This ranking (which is meaningless) should not be surprising.
This year is going to be a wash and people better get used to that idea. There's plenty to look forward too but winning a lot of games this year is not one of them. If we go on a run at any various points then that will be nice.
Dude, the Redskins suck. We trounced them last year.
3 out of the first 4 games are against Buffalo, Tampa and Washington. 2 are at home. If they're not at least 2-2 after the first 4 games things could get very ugly very quickly.
Right now? These sort of rankings have been killing the Giants for years, and they haven't been very wrong recently.
We've sucked for a long time, been truly horrible the last two years, and lost some of our best players. So it doesn't take a media conspiracy to believe we'll continue to suck until proven otherwise.

an argument those rest of those teams are better than us heading into 2019. We are a super young team.
Dude, the Redskins suck. We trounced them last year.
The Redskins do suck and have no direction, but the last I checked Mark Sanchez isn't back. We suck, but at least we have young talent and a clear direction.
We suck until proven otherwise. So, this doesn't surprise me. Our defense is very young. There will be growing pains. Our offense could be good.
That said, I believe we are moving in the right direction overall. If everything comes together, maybe we have some meaningful November games. Odds are we will be developing our new QB during the later part of the season, which we need to do.
-- Saquan could be better this year with the improved OL, assuming they stay healthy. If the passing game can keep defenses from putting 8-9 guys in the box, he could be scary. Engram being healthy could help alot.
- An upright Eli is a better Eli...the OL is better, Eli should improve.
-- OBJ has made it more than apparent that the trade had to happen. He is a "me" guy, didn't want to be here. The trade's true impact is TBD. Zeitler helps immediately, that alone helps alot. Peppers likely provides upside at SS, he looks like he can cover TE's which the former SS couldn't do. The rookies we ultimately got - Lawrence and Baker -- will be starters and have shown some promise. Jury is out.
-- The 2018 and 2019 draft classes have been good. Alot of young talent on the team that is developing.
-- Daniel Jones has wowed everyone. He looks like the real deal. There's hope for the future at QB. Lets hope he keeps progressing.
-- $55 Million+ of cap space next season. Mix it in with our young talent, we could be scary good in 2020.
