German vs. Bailey
I’m asleep before the game even begins. #oldandupearly
At least I don't have to work and watch at the same time with the late starts.
Agree. Would love to see him heat up. He missed a splitter up in the zone :-/
Gary just destroyed a pitch
1-0
3-1
We need to pound Bailey now.

Yankees have allowed 37 HR in 1st inning. Only 2 teams in MLB history have allowed more: 2005 Reds and 2019 Giants both allowed 38.

Well Happ is eating innings. He won’t make the October roster. Heard it first (or second) hand. Also wonder how many of those HRs leave Yankee stadium but not others ?
Obviously the starting staff isn’t quite what you want it but the bullpen is unmatched and the lineup should mostly be back by October so we will
See what happens.

He’s now 2-0 against the Yankees this year.
You are relying on a guy who has not pitched all year and was terrible the second half of last season???
German has been hardly garbage with a 16-3 record. However I do fear that Maybin, Urshela and Tauchman will cool off significantly which will really hurt.

doesn’t bring their 10 run bats we will lose .. This is a fact... But yet management does nothing about it.. It’s been a very strange season looking at where we are. The playoffs are the best of the best and this garbage pitching will end it quickly...

You fear them cooling off but not German in the playoffs? Has German beaten a playoff team this year. Most of those 16 wins were ahaha good Baltimore and Toronto.
Oh, and the Yankees haven't had significant injuries? And 2-1 or 19-4 counts the same last time I checked and 2-1 would hurt more than 19-4.
Cleveland just got shellacked by the Mets!

No I don't fear German in the playoffs. I'd rather German than Paxton right now and especially Happ and CC.

How many posts in a row are going to be made acting as if the sky is falling?

we got Houston in June when they had a ton of injuries. Let’s dominate Oakland or the dodgers on there home turf like we got dominated by a good team last week 19-4.

When they Yankees faced Houston in June who were the Yankees missing?? Stanton was playing at that time. Judge was back to

Sorry people can not be concerned about the playoffs because of the lack of pitching the Yankees have.
Calling me names because I am worried about the pitching come the playoffs smh
There's being worried about pitching and then there's sounding off on every yankee thread like a petulant child about something you can't control, and even "management" would have a difficult time addressing.
He beat the twins in a rain storm back in May. What happen last month?? He got shelled gave up 8 runs. Tampa Boston and the Mets won’t be in the playoffs
Fucking ponderous, man.
Annoying loss, annoying ballpark.
Here's what matters...
Aaron Judge pulled a 470 foot BOMB to LCF and is starting to look like he's busting out of this slump he's been in.
Gary Sanchez might have actually just been hurt when he was struggling before his IL stint. The HR he hit last night probably could have killed someone if they were in the way of it...
Pretty much fuck everything else.
Let's get back on track tonight.

How do you know Tampa and the Mets won't be in the playoffs?

What do you monitor everybody on BBI yankee threads??? Before last week I haven’t posted on a yankee thread in 3 months.
And predictably - it always comes after a loss.
Are you going to really say you haven't posted negative shit all year? A year where the team has overcome more adversity than almost any other and sits in first place?

The Mets were playing lousy baseball when German faced them and Tampa might be right there but there line up is terrible. German has not been tested against a good playoff team. He will pitch against the Dodgers Sunday night. See you then

Now I remember you.. your the BBi police like bigblueshock in yankee and giants game threads. All you two idiots do is bash posters who post facts and complaints about the two teams. Giants have been a shit show since 2012 and yet you will call somebody names and curse them out when they say how bad the defense is or how poorly Eli is playing.. it’s always rainbows ponies and unicorns for some people I guess.. have a nice day.
All the same difference and not really worth mental shelf space
Who are these baseball teams that just don't have any issues or don't lose any games? I'd love to know.
I’m sure the Yankees have a plan to manage his workload in September (I’m surprised he’s throwing Sunday actually). And on the latter I imagine most of the rotation this October will only be asked to go 4-5 innings before handing it over to the world class bullpen.

IIRC, the Yanks just said they are not worried about his innings and he will keep pitching as normal. He is 27 y/o, not 22. Was out for almost a month when the hip got hurt so they are considering that a reset (I thought that would be a consideration).
Thing is, though, that's pretty hard to do game after game. We'll see what happens. I'd feel a helluva lot better about it if Betances can come back and pitch like his old self.
The September roster expansion should provide a good bit of relief for the starters where needed. I think we'll also likely get a look at Garcia... maybe he can help the team similarly to how Phil Hughes did as a reliever in 09.
Severino and Betances look like they're on the right path. So more reinforcements should be coming. Not sure what to expect from Montgomery - or when - but that's another potential arm that could factor in and help soak up some innings.
I also think Loaisiga is going to work well in his current role. He pitched well last night in relief. Only gave up one hit in 2+ innings of work, IIRC.
...on this west coast swing playing two very strong teams.
Effective next year. Can still utilize the entire 40 this year.
gotta close out the inning. Yanks starters are prone to the
gopher balls (go check out the numbers for each starter).
Lets see If Happ can give them five quality innings tonight. That's about all you can expect from him at this point.
The good news last night was that German didn't get hurt on the mound, for a moment, didn't look good!

It is a long, tough trip out there. A few more runs would have changed everything last night. A good opposing pitcher throwing a good game is hard to beat -- for anyone, even the Yankees. Let's see how it goes tonight.
Honestly, its now time to get some of our pitchers back and get Voit and Hicks and Judge and Sanchez to at least their average threat level.
Look at that list: Severino, Betances, Voit, Hicks, Judge and Sanchez. 40 days to go.
May not be as bad as thought. They had him do exercises - may have built the area up. His swings in the batting cage looked pretty full.

Happ vs. Fiers
We know Happ will give up a HR.. we just don't know how many or what inning. I'll settle for one solo shot or two run shot if it means he gives us 6 innings and doesn't give up much more than that.
Watching games at this stadium drives me absolutely insane with the drumming and vuvuzelas... it's horrendous.
Aside from Meadows. Who is good in there lineup??? Choi D’arnaud Angular. Keimaier. Heredia. Zunino. Yea these guys are awesome. They do not have a single batter who is hitting over .280 and they also haven’t played a team with a winning record all summer aside from Boston and the Yankees.. so I don’t want to hear how them won 15 out of 18
Quote:
They just won something close to 15 of 18 games. They are going to wim 90 games again - but yeah, they are a terrible team - as are the A's and who did they beat last week? The Astro's? Terrible teams.

Mike Graves- Did you ever ask yourself why you are such a miserable fuck when your team- (supposedly your team)- is tied for the best record in baseball. How many people have to defend the Yankees this year for you to be satisfied. Go sit on some barb wire and think about it for awhile.

What exactly do you expect?
It seems like no matter what, you're just going to fucking complain after every single loss as if we're supposed to go 162-0.
How many teams in baseball would you trade seasons with right now and going forward?
I'll wait....
Just wants to argue.
I was wondering the same. Is he injured in any way.

playing? He didn't play last night either.

Ingrown nail in foot removed Sunday...can play, but Boone giving the night off.
Makes it out of 1st without a run!
