German vs. Bailey
Who are these baseball teams that just don't have any issues or don't lose any games? I'd love to know.
I’m sure the Yankees have a plan to manage his workload in September (I’m surprised he’s throwing Sunday actually). And on the latter I imagine most of the rotation this October will only be asked to go 4-5 innings before handing it over to the world class bullpen.

IIRC, the Yanks just said they are not worried about his innings and he will keep pitching as normal. He is 27 y/o, not 22. Was out for almost a month when the hip got hurt so they are considering that a reset (I thought that would be a consideration).
Thing is, though, that's pretty hard to do game after game. We'll see what happens. I'd feel a helluva lot better about it if Betances can come back and pitch like his old self.
The September roster expansion should provide a good bit of relief for the starters where needed. I think we'll also likely get a look at Garcia... maybe he can help the team similarly to how Phil Hughes did as a reliever in 09.
Severino and Betances look like they're on the right path. So more reinforcements should be coming. Not sure what to expect from Montgomery - or when - but that's another potential arm that could factor in and help soak up some innings.
I also think Loaisiga is going to work well in his current role. He pitched well last night in relief. Only gave up one hit in 2+ innings of work, IIRC.
...on this west coast swing playing two very strong teams.
Effective next year. Can still utilize the entire 40 this year.
gotta close out the inning. Yanks starters are prone to the
gopher balls (go check out the numbers for each starter).
Lets see If Happ can give them five quality innings tonight. That's about all you can expect from him at this point.
The good news last night was that German didn't get hurt on the mound, for a moment, didn't look good!

It is a long, tough trip out there. A few more runs would have changed everything last night. A good opposing pitcher throwing a good game is hard to beat -- for anyone, even the Yankees. Let's see how it goes tonight.
Honestly, its now time to get some of our pitchers back and get Voit and Hicks and Judge and Sanchez to at least their average threat level.
Look at that list: Severino, Betances, Voit, Hicks, Judge and Sanchez. 40 days to go.
May not be as bad as thought. They had him do exercises - may have built the area up. His swings in the batting cage looked pretty full.

Happ vs. Fiers
We know Happ will give up a HR.. we just don't know how many or what inning. I'll settle for one solo shot or two run shot if it means he gives us 6 innings and doesn't give up much more than that.
Watching games at this stadium drives me absolutely insane with the drumming and vuvuzelas... it's horrendous.
Aside from Meadows. Who is good in there lineup??? Choi D’arnaud Angular. Keimaier. Heredia. Zunino. Yea these guys are awesome. They do not have a single batter who is hitting over .280 and they also haven’t played a team with a winning record all summer aside from Boston and the Yankees.. so I don’t want to hear how them won 15 out of 18
Quote:
They just won something close to 15 of 18 games. They are going to wim 90 games again - but yeah, they are a terrible team - as are the A's and who did they beat last week? The Astro's? Terrible teams.

Mike Graves- Did you ever ask yourself why you are such a miserable fuck when your team- (supposedly your team)- is tied for the best record in baseball. How many people have to defend the Yankees this year for you to be satisfied. Go sit on some barb wire and think about it for awhile.

What exactly do you expect?
It seems like no matter what, you're just going to fucking complain after every single loss as if we're supposed to go 162-0.
How many teams in baseball would you trade seasons with right now and going forward?
I'll wait....
Just wants to argue.
I was wondering the same. Is he injured in any way.

playing? He didn't play last night either.

Ingrown nail in foot removed Sunday...can play, but Boone giving the night off.
Makes it out of 1st without a run!
