...I'm particularly interested on how the defense guards against runs to the edge. Past several years (save for one) the Giants defense gave up as many soft corners as any team in the NFL!
I believe that Simonsen may be the best blocker of the bunch.
If that is the case, the bad drop must be put into context. Certainly a TE who might actually help SB is not on the bubble because of 1 drop in a meaningless game.
Not like any of the TEs not named EE are threatening to tear it up in the passing game.
Like the write up...
The only thing I have questioned in the past is about Eli being "shell shocked". I never looked at it that way. As I see it Eli did what he needed to do. Either take a self preservation dive, dump the ball, or hang in to pass. He rarely had the time after the snap. His "choice" of targets sometimes was limited by the coverage and rush, thus the "Eli cant pass deep" crowd. All being said, most quarterbacks would be ecstatic over his stats last year. "garbage time" or not, I feel he remained as competitive as ever, considering what he had to work with.

Simonson is also the most likely to draw a flag, which doesn't help anybody.
I have like 15 interceptions with him and Lauletta. But I am running all over the field like a maniac and the Giants are 7-6. I think we would all take that record.
So far most impressive with him is his sensibilities. The go route TDs to the corner of the end zone are becoming routine and boring. I like most his throw to Fowler vs Bears the most, a muddy 4 defenders against a 3 combo route, but he sees and makes the throw to the deepest route Fowler on a slant in a fairly tight window. That's point guard vision that many QBs don't have. He's the John Stockton of football.
Number one he is consistant and does a good job
in punt coverage I the backup wins the job fine
Rather go with a sure thing . Baker concerns me and
as well as Ballentine has played CB is a big concern
Beal has been a non factor due to being injured so call me concerned there . The Loss of Tate stings too .
Expect to see BJ Hill Lawrence and Tomlinson to step it up
and start making some plays Laurence has yet to register
a single tackle yet . I expect to see him live up to his billing . Were gonna have our hands full with Zeke Elliott !

He is most definitely shell shocked. There many times last season that Eli checked the ball down or just crumbled at just the perception of pressure.
That isnt even a criticism...who wouldnt be after several years of inept line play. But he definitely reacts to phantom pressure.

Nowhere did I knock Simonson's blocking. I merely said he's not safe. I think folks are ignoring Garrett.
Seems like just yesterday they were a stacked well-coached football team at every position. The talent difference was so clear during that joint practice session 2 years back.
Now, they are the latest team with a pipsqueak coach (Zac Taylor, 36 years old?) and a roster of nobody's. Joe Mixon is one of the best RBs in the NFL. After that, their OLine is a mess (John Jerry is rotating at LG and Bobby Hart is their starting RT). Last year's 1st round pick C Billy Price has been compromised by a foot injury and has not played well. Their D has an aging Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap and not a helluva lot else.
This is a rebuilding team, and it will be interesting to see if the Giants clobber them upside the head.
If there is a significant difference, best run blocker is going to be viewed as next after EE with the further proviso that the blocking TE cannot be worthless as a receiver.
Other than EE, none are safe. It makes some sense that RE could be vulnerable. Not a DG signing, not going to get better, positive cap ramification.

Joint practice was 4 years ago, Coughlin's last year.
But yes, Bengals have been going the wrong way. Pats won't play anybody next week, so this is as much of a test as NYG will get before Dallas.
RE: Just saying, discussion - not dissing anyone Â

Ellison is connected to Shurmur and does multiple things competently, if nothing very well. He knows all phases of the TE and HBack positions in PS's O.
I doubt he's vulnerable in the least for this year.
And Ellison has been cited as a very positive locker room presence Â
time to move on from DeOssie, replacing him with the intent of having a two-way player shouldn't be the priority. It should be to replace him with the best long snapper.
last year and some the year before. It might be time to seriously consider a replacement. He is not done, but the cracks are evident. He still covers well, without doubt. Dixon saved his bacon more than once last year.
I like Ballentine as K/O returner. He has a very nice explosion through the whole and seems to attack the coverage and not wait to find a seam. Aggressive style that seems to be the best method.
Looking forward to watching real time tonight as I have had Â
Then double apologies to him.
Hey, I've got Jones on the brain.

He said RBs that Eli played with...

Every year with the same thing. You know what has become a unicorn in the NFL? Long-snappers who actually log time at other positions.
Why don't we just save a roster spot and have Rosas PK and punt?? Why not have Peppers play WR and DB?
Is there that little awareness about what a long-snapper does?

move on from DeOssie. His snaps aren't that great anymore. Keep a young guy who can snap and play LB too if needed.

Using someone at multiple positions is too wavy gravy for Jints Central, leave that crazy stuff to Belichick and Payton.
Trey Junkin...no thanks

I've also been impressed with Kenny Ladler. He just seems to make and/'or be near plays. Is he on any of the STs?

When there are bad snaps, pressure up the middle, or late in punt coverage, it will be time to move on. I haven’t seen that yet.
Some things to view include the competitions at Tight End and Linebacker, as well as the returners.
Obviously all eyes on Manning vs. Jones...as you know Cris Carter will be watching
Awesome timing! You should go!
