It's the Giants, which means they did it so they can say nanny nanny boo boo to any ex WR. It's not business, it's all clown shoes and pie throwing at 1925.

Is there any reality to him coming or is it just joking?
It's an old joke. A poster once claimed he had inside info on Anthony Davis and that he was being traded to the Giants. When it didn't happen for a few days he doubled down and claimed the paper work was being held up in the league office for some reason.

The Giants waived WR DaMari Scott on Wednesday. He requested his release to look for opportunities elsewhere. Giants were willing to comply. Scott spent part of last season on 53-man rosters w/Bills and Browns. Made a nice diving 38-yard catch downfield last week vs. Bears
for his release so he could catch on with a team where he has a better 53-man shot.
Made a nice grab vs the Bears where he laid out and made a great catch.
I wish him well. Even with Tate suspended he had no chance of making the roster as he was behind Shepard, Latimer, Fowler, TJ Jones, Slayton, Russell Shepard, Russell, and Reggie White.

This is somewhat insane, in a good way. Even with Tate out, the WR room is deep enough that Scott knows he isn't making the 53. Just play that back for a minute...
Scott is a marginal NFL player, but a legitimate one. Â
I like the looks of this Giants receiving corp. And I say this even discounting Tate. As the season moves along, it will be interesting to see whether any receiver deficiencies are due to talent or the quarterback whose throwing the ball to them.
RE: Scott is a marginal NFL player, but a legitimate one. Â
That he had no chance of making the roster, even with Tate exempt, suggests that the depth at WR is decent, despite the unexciting headline talent.
It appears that it is. While they don't have a true #1 WR they should be a solid group. NE and Seattle have proven that offenses can succeed without a stud #1. Russell Wilson's best WR over his career was Doug Baldwin yet Seattle has had no issues putting points on the board.
They're tough and good run blockers. Hopefully they will be dynamic enough as playmakers to do their part in putting points up on the board. We'll see. It helps that Saquon is special and that Engram is a big play threat. The wideouts should benefit from the favorable coverages those guys will create for them.
My guess is they made a final decision on him and wanted to give him Â

This is what I immediately thought. Guy made a great play last week. Knows he's a longshot to make the team here, so be cut so that he can try somewhere else.
Hopefully sexy moves with speed lines.
No, it's gotta be Anthony Davis.
Nah, Henry Ford tho.
Well played sir
But I’m hoping for Herman Moore
Cruuuuuuuuuzzzzzzzzzzz!!

You say that like it's a bad thing.

The paperwork was finally cleared by the league office??
No James Jones..everyone knows that

Yup.
They didn't need to waive Scott just because Slayton is good-to-go.

Good for him. Proactive. Gets a ten day jump on the guys waiting around for the axe to fall.
Still leaves the Giants a man short of 90, though. I wonder...do they have to sign someone, or can they just go with 89 until next Saturday?

Each WR brings something different to the table.
