so he does
weak-ass slider and gone.
We need to package him with Ellsbury and get them to Korea.
Meredith last night reported how excited CC was at batting this weekend in LA. I immediately bet someone $20 if he actually pitches effectively for 2-3 innings to get an AB at Dodger Stadium.
11-3 with a low 3 era. Guys has two no hitters, one this year - how is he a bargain basement pitcher.

is going to poop his way through our lineup tonight. Beane sure knows how to bargain basement shop for arms.

He is being paid almost 1/3 of Happ's salary for a reason. He is overproducing in a way that appears to magically occur when you pitch for Oakland.
He is so lucky to not get racked by Davis here.
He is so lucky to not get racked by Davis here.
If you are going to make a statement, then tell the truth. He's sitting 92 with several at 93 and 94 mph. He just Kd Davis at 94.
But to the point, I would not have him on the postseason roster at all. Can use CC in the playoffs like they use Cortes.

and no offspeed pitcher he get get past anyone. It's ridiculous that we are relying on him to win games. He and CC are long relievers playing out of position at this point.

He seems to throw several fastballs with one of them sitting at 89-90mph. Yes he can dial it all the way up to 94mph.
Either way, its astonishing how much he is making for a guy who was at best a duplicate of CC.

The new balls must really have made him obsolete. He had an ERA under 3 last year for us in 11 games.

I blame age and infirmity (but nice try).
Time for some 2 out clutch hitting by Maybin.
another poorly located pitch by Green that lands 4 feet past the fence.
speaking of pitching,
Kershaw
Ryu
Buehler
Verlander
Cole
Greinke
Tanaka
Paxton
German
Let's go Gleyber.
Again, not gonna happen, but I would like to see Tachman lead off and have DJ in 2 hole. Tachman has shown good ability to work a count.
I’m just frustrated right now with Judge’s at bats.
Bullpen should be good enough. They’re a little gassed at this point, best thing Boone can do is try to manage their innings through Sept to have them fresh.
No easy task with our wonky rotation. Save us Sevy!
...that's not going to get any easier.
Hold on to your hats!
JA Happ won't be pitching when it really counts.
No way he's getting a postseason start. They'll likely use him as a middle inning reliever if anything in lower leverage spots (relatively speaking - I know there's really no low leverage spot in a postseason game) - but I'd bet on seeing very little of Happ in October.
I anticipate the Yankees are doing to do a lot of mixing and matching. There will probably be a bunch of guys they will ask to give them 2-3, maybe 4 innings at a time.
We have the best bullpen in baseball as it stands now. If Betances returns it's even better. That will play in the postseason and make a difference.
Last night was annoying. It's frustrating enough just to lose the game that way, but to have to watch it with a group of idiots in sunglasses at night who look like they're on acid banging these drums and blowing horns completely out of sync and off balance over and over and over again for 9 freaking innings...
I can't wait to get away from this shithole of a stadium.
Maybin was particularly awful last night. Not sure what was up with him, but pretty much all of his AB's were really bad. He did get robbed by Profar on a bloop that looked like it would fall.. but just a lot of really bad swings. Especially against Fiers.
Surprised Boone asked Greenie to go 3, but Green did a pretty nice job. Getting out of that bases loaded jam with only one crossing the plate was good - he really attacked and had some gas. The overall line won't do him justice given what he was asked to do.
Let's just salvage one and get the fuck out of this dump.
Side note... does it piss anyone else off that NYY/LAD are playing each other on "Players Weekend" ?
These teams don't see each other a whole lot - have two of the most iconic uniforms in the sport, and they're going to be wearing these hideous players weekend uniforms with stupid nicknames on the back.
Grinds my gears, man.
Why are you only on threads for Yankee losses? Just curious.
It happens. Oakland has been a tough spot for anybody to go into this season. They're 42-24 at home. Let's not overreact. The Astros just lost to the Tigers as one of the largest regular season baseball favorites in history. We stay 2 games up for home field.
Happ is just brutal to watch though. You're just waiting for the long ball with each pitch. Mentioned it earlier, but his 3rd year option vests with 165 innings or 27 starts next season. Need to make sure that doesn't happen.
And it does seem like regression has kicked in for Tauchmann and Maybin, although Mike has reversed his skid a bit out in Oakland. Maybin 4 for his last 31 with some ugly looking ABs last night. It's to be expected, they've done a tremendous job filling in. Better than we ever could have hoped. But last night was the first time I was saying to myself I think I'm ready to see Stanton come back into this lineup. Get healthy and load up the offense.
in the offseason, but he has that damn vesting option attached next year....it won't easy to move him.
I believe I read either 165 IP, or 27 starts.
Need to salvage the last game out there.

I didn't notice you mentioned about the vesting option...
