Its no wonder the good teams have such lopsided win-loss records.
I think the Yankees are going to struggle in the postseason. Not showing well against the Indians/As over the last week.
They split with the Indians. They have hitting, a great bullpen, and J.A. Happ won’t make their postseason roster. Let’s worry about the Mets actually getting in.
Great to hear Stroman is ready to go but I’d rather give him the extra time and take advantage of the offday and have him go next Saturday in Philly which is a huge game anyway
Starting pitching is all that matters in the postseason. But thanks for the update.
Really? I don't think the Royals staff on the team that won a few years ago was a strong point of that team. Didn't seem to matter that year.
Maybe it gets familia back out there for the 8th since he didn’t have to be hit for that inning.
He’s returned with a lot more juice
Well, Regan says he’s on the rebound. Huge outing for him coming up.
Pouring now. How about calling this game?
obviously this is not safe - likely it's worse than when they started the delay originally
Umps have really hosed everyone. Gonna be here till 3 am
Yeah. It looks pretty substantial. Oh well, I’m off tomorrow to get an epidural injection into a disc. Guess it’s coffee time.
On the bright side, 2nd and 3rd, no outs with 2-3-4 up.
These wacky rain delays always bring out the bad memories of that awful game against the Padres one day before the Cespedes trade - and the game earlier this year where Alonso lobbied the unps,to keep playing.
But I got faith in these dudes if they have to back out there. Time for Diaz to join the renaissance!

The upton homer post rain delay was such a nut shot.
Thanks! I herniated a disc at the gym a few months back. Lot of burning into the leg and all that jazz. God willing tomorrow is the last epidural and I can get back to moving without pain. But yeah, that thing hurt like a mofo last time!

Which is a pretty good app has it raining hard (harder than now) until 2:30 or so. Kinda messed up to hang an 8 hour night on these teams. But, Indians are in division and WC races. I get that they want to give them every chance to play a full game, but at some point it seems a disservice with how wet the infield is on top of all the water that the OF has taken.

That was the fucking worst. It was the day after the failed Gomez trade and the team was just in a WTF?? moment. Four days later they are tied for first, have Yoenis and were on their way to the pennant.
That Five Days in Flushing documentary on SNY is a really good breakdown of that wild week.
Frazier has had a couple of huge moments, but he’s our worst hitting regular right now.

Yeah I think it has to go that way. They can still play Frazier against lefties and rest Panik but Frazier is hitting under .200 and Panik is hitting over .300. That's a pretty straightforward decision.
The back surgeon was great. I subsequently went to him for neck disc
Obviously your situation is different but thought I would just do the FYI in case. If epidural does not work well, you might want to go to a surgeon
Rest up and hope that Jake has his A-1 stuff tomorrow to set a tone against the Barves
I think that means 15-5 against the AL this year. God bless interleague
deGrom tomorrow.
McNeil back Saturday.
LFGM!

Thanks Vanzetti! Am working with a good surgeon at Weil. He says if this epidural doesn’t solve it, then we will do surgery. I’m fine with that if that’s what it takes!
Oh man. If familia maintains this and Diaz returns to last year’s form, the bullpen is more than enough to back up this staff. If we can get to the wild card game and win it then I think we are the annual “team that no one wants to face” in the post-season.
Atl: Foltynewicz, Fried, Keuchel v JDG, Wheeler, Matz
Chi: Darvish, Hendricks, Lester v Stro, Thor, JDG
Phi: Nola, Eflin, Vargas v Wheeler, Matz, Stro
Was: Only lists Thor v Corbin, that means the back end of their rotation w/ JDG, Wheeler up...

After the Mets officially won, Sydergaard responded directly to the Indians’ pregame tweet.
“We got some FRINGE for you right here, we call it a SWEEP in NYC. #LFGM,” he wrote.

As dumb a comment as it gets.
