Less satisfying/fun then the first two games but a win is a win.
-Stupar and Tanney did not play well and should be cut. I don't have either on my mental 53.
-Zo Russell keeps making plays I have him snagging the 6th WR spot while Tate is suspended for his special teams play.
-Dickerson, X-Man, Jones, Love, Gallman , Remmers, Lauletta and especially Ballentine had a strong showing. I can't recall the last time no one mentioned the Giants RT. That was a good thing.
-The biggest roster concern I have is LB depth (Tree, Davis, Connelly and who?).
who is the 3rd tackle? Slade is a career journeyman who has been a camp body for his entire career... is he our swing tackle?
Haven't been impressed with Gates and Wheeler appears to be a goner.
Hopefully someone decent is on the waiver wire.
Also, the WR core is so meh. Bunch of JAGS without upside besides Sterling Shep and Slayton. Would be great if Slayton could emerge. Latimer is too inconsistent, Fowler is a JAG, and Sheppard is a ST guy with no upside at WR. First 4 games are going to be a struggle for the passing attack without Tate.
Defensively, this team just lacks big time players. Looks like a bottom 5-10 unit on paper. There is no Khalil Mack, Von Miller, Aaron Donald, or Fletcher Cox getting after the QB. Not even close. The LB's are slow. For all of the hype, Peppers still can't keep up with TE's.

Gonna be a long year.
Slade maybe a journeyman but he is an improvement over Wheeler and he can play pretty much anywhere on the line. I think it's Gates and Slade who will join Pulley and Brown as the backup OL.
Neither team ran the ball well nobody stood out
I know Gallman is likely the backup but to me Perkins shows
more play making ability than the rest .
I am not ready to just cut Goodson he has his flaws but
he is one of the better in terms of solid tackling .
The top 6 WR's is a tough call but Slayton showed some promise
Lattimer had a rough go at it .
Offensive line had some problems as well .
I think Tanney has seen the last of his snaps .
Jones Eli and Kyle all played well . Ximines played well
Ballentine has not only secured a spot but maybe even first guy off the bench so where does that leave Beal as far as
his status goes Slayton also caught me eye through pre-season . So looks like another solid draft and we can start to see some depth where we were hard pressed for solid starter's .

You sound like you have a case of the sads. It isn't all that gloomy. Buck up little camper.
Both were downfield. The fist was a pass play where he was rushing and ended up tackling the receiver downfield. He did on other play I believe it was a rush believe. I like the hustle.

Lorenzo Carter had an impressive play like this too where he chased the player down the field.
Don't quite get the hype regarding Jabril Peppers Â

First of all, offensive line depth is a thing of the past. Nobody has it.
Second of all, because the Giants don't have any All Pros on defense, it's all doom and gloom?
We already know the pass rush is lacking, and the WR corps is thin. This season is not about contending for a championship. It's not going to be a "long year" if the team shows promise for the future.
RE: Don't quite get the hype regarding Jabril Peppers Â
All around to me. Ximines flashed, Slayton made a big time play, Big Dex made a play, Jones kept it up, guys like Dickerson and Golden went all out to make it and we rallied late to win. Yeah some ugly plays, some guys stock dropped but enjoyed the hustle and teamwork. It's going to be rough at times but this team has more speed and talent and it's going to be fun watching them improve.
really can't contain himself when talking about Jones. He's not exactly the most expressive guy and he's a vanilla veteran coach that is fluent in coachspeak....even he can't hide his enthusiasm for the 6th pick.
Jabrill won the New Jersey Meet of Champions 100-meter dash. He ran a laser timed 10.5, and slowed down at the end of the race. Peppers has extraordinary speed.
Got home from the game. Pointing out we are thin at WR is nothing new, but I will add we are thin at running back also, other then Gallman, non impress at all. We may have a player in X-Man, and we have a player in Ballentine. Tanney llooked hhorrible, Jones is very impressive, and I like Russel Shepard.

RB is literally the least of our problems.
Am I the only one who thought Gallman looked really slow? Â
obviously, we don't have a gamebreaker like OBJ - but this group seems pretty consistent across the board. They all can block, they compete, they are tough and they don't seem to make a bunch of drops when it matters (there may be one exception to that). I think it is going to be a very tough cut to pick the top six or so.
I do like that there isn't a guy who sulks if he isn't getting the ball. That allows for a more balanced and unpredictable attack. Add in Barkley and Engram and I think it will be a tough group to defend.
is just about the same as everybody else:
Jones is definitely impressive
Lauletta should be the #3 if they keep 3
There is really nobody special at WR, but they get the job done
OL is improved, but what happens when injuries pop up?
I sure would like to see Barkley behind this OL. The thought of him not getting hit 2 yards behind the line on every play has me thinking he runs for at least 1500 yards.
Rosas has at least 2 tackles this preseason. Maybe he should play LB :)
Speaking of LB, if they don't cut Stupar I have to wonder about their thought process. Stupar looks like he's going for the league lead in missed tackles.
The rest of the LBs are meh. Haven't seen much out of Carter.
XMan had a couple of sacks, but I remember one where the LT didn't even try to block him. That's not happening in the regular season unless he goes up against Ereck Flowers.
Ballentine will be the steal of the draft. I know he played for a small school, but he looks like the best of the young secondary. How did he not get drafted sooner?

Remember when folks on BBI where whining about this pick?
Yapping that we already drafted 2 corners, why not get a RT there, etc.
This is a great example of why you don't draft based on position, and draft based on how highly you value players.
I guess many fans are still thinking about our last five years instead of seeing what I clearly see.....unlike last year, we now have a much younger team that now appears to not have a glaring weakness.
Some say WR is a weakness. I disagree....the 7 who make the team are all more than capable of making plays and they all bust their butt off to do what it takes. I agree, if Slayton can stay healthy he can be so critical to allow us to open things up. I don’t know enough about Golden so I need to,read and look at film. I didn’t think he could make the team until now.
To those who think PEPPERS is slow do not know football.
To those who think we have no OL depth....who does? Can you tell me who are the back up players for the Cowboys or Eagles and what is so good about them?
To those who think we are poor at getting to the qb because maybe our DC has not shown anyone anything and is playing it all vanilla. In other words, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
I choose to look at all the good things happening in preseason:
1. 3-0
2. Daniel Jones
3. DL depth and Lawrence is a Beast
4. The Xman is rising up
5. The young and talented secondary is forming. When Baker returns along with Ballentine’s emergence, grouped with Jackrabbit and Healey.....me like
6. The new and improved OL...while having some down moments last night, over all they have been rock solid.(starters)
7. Rosas is still a Beast
8. Did we finally find our punt returner? I can only hope.
9. Even Eli has played well this preseason
10. Wait until you see the unveiling of SUPERMAN SAQUON
Someone pinch me...I love this team! Thank you DG and PS for molding them to play as a family. After all, it is a team game.
So far, only Zeigler is an improvement - the Tackles almost got Jones killed, and Hernandez was a train wreck. Solder is getting paid a ton of money but keeps getting pushed and run around.

Hopefully they keep him over Goodson & Stupar. Goodson is slow and Stupar can’t tackle
closed out game to top off the rest of his performance.
He really did look good. That scramble to get back to scrimmage was excellent.
Lauletta over Tanney.
OL was a problem, including the backups.
Not enough pass rush.
Ballentine and Dickerson played well.
Haven't been impressed with Gates and Wheeler appears to be a goner.

Don't worry. Fans will be screaming for Jones first time Eli misses one.
Quote:
think we'll be on the waiver wire looking for LBs.
Agreed, or they bump up someone from 3rd string. I'd rather keep Goodson at this point then Stupar. He thumps people.
Yes, but never in the backfield.
I’m done with Goodson. I hope the Giants are as well.
Haven't been impressed with Gates and Wheeler appears to be a goner.

Well, a good return is usually a team effort whereas a fumble is the fault of one guy.

He'll be attacking from the slot. They aren't going to show DAL anything. Bettcher's been vanilla with his alignments and personnel packages.

Peppers is fast. A lot faster than Collins at any rate.
RB is literally the least of our problems.
It would be great if we struck gold with Slayton. Speed and some size. We can certainly use that combined with Shep and Tate.

Easily the best edge rusher, unfortunately there didn't seem to be any rush besides him, the X-man maybe.
