I know Jones played against some starters butt you still need to put it in context when comparing the QBs.
I'm sure they also played with better players than Gallman, Perkins, Rod Smith, Cody Latimer, Bennie Fowler, Russell Shepard, Brittan Golden, Darius Slayton, Rhett Ellison & Scott Simonson.

So, let's also put into context that Jones has not played with Saquon Barkley or Sterling Shepard. He didn't play with Engram at all in the first two games, either. Not sure he even played many snaps with Engram last night.
Jones has also not played with the starting OL the entire time. He's played with the backups too.

I agree with everything here and have been defending him on this basis for a while. Just was hoping for an apples to apples comparison.
Heading into the season for their respective teams, so that means they were running with second team..not sure about the others...and honestly I don’t care at this point. Hitting 85 percent of your passes against cardboard cutouts is impressive let alone doing it in games and pushing the ball downfield.
I'm as happy with Jones as anyone but, are we really comparing Â
It is relevant for context. There are those saying it doesn’t matter it’s preseason, and that’s true. However there are others saying it’s batting practice and he should crush it, and that’s simply not true....that’s what this context is for.
....
Douche, Mayfield.
Didn't he play against starters last night?

Yeah, I guess so. But it was still one game and I figured a bunch got subbed out in the second quarter

Fwiw I think Mason Rudolph had best pre-season stats last year of the rooks.
