WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Due to holes in the end zones of IG Field, where goalposts for the Canadian Football League's bigger field are usually planted, the Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers played on a shorter field Thursday night. Lengthy conversations among NFL, Packers and Raiders officials ended with the decision that the players should not be in such unsafe conditions, so the playing field was reduced to 80 yards, with each 10-yard line serving as the goal line. Up until about 20 minutes before kickoff, field workers were trying to tamp down a square of artificial turf in each end zone, to no avail. It would not stay put. |
Pretty hysterical
Could have played at the SF Giants park. How about Vegas? No one in Winnipeg gives a shit.
GB sits 39 players, yet they still lose their #1 draft pick to injury.

LOL looks like it.....i love how they got a big dude to stand on it.
no local fan wants to pay full price for a pre-season game, the Winnipeg fans/people don't get to see American football often outside of the CFL (a version of American football), so why not give them exposure to the game.
regular season games in Mexico City, London, and Toronto are different. To me.

agree, but at least you have the potential for some curious fans. I have been to too many NFL pre-season games that are just boring as hell and sort of sad.
if I were a season ticket owner I'd be pissed they charge me for two (usually) pre-season games at the same price.
I'd love it if they only had 1 home game and gave my team a "destination" game.
