has been a giant among men this preseason.
The rookie QB is up to an 83.3 comp pct, 12.3 yds/att, and a 140.1 passer rating.
Those numbers are the highest in a rookie preseason since at least 2006 (min. 30 attempts).
Some additional perspective & #128071;.

The reason I say that is it was brought up that the Giants were racist for drafting Daniel Jones. Now that Jones is playing extremely well and Haskins okay at best it sounds like these talking head are trying to stick up for their guy in Haskins and finding more made up shit about the Giants and Jones.
It is my perception, also. It is hard to make the claim without being labeled a racist. But I don't think it is a coincidence that Josina/Riddick/Haskins are all black - A sort of reverse discrimination. If Jones were black and Haskins white, I wonder if they would still share the same commentary.
How do you know that they are not partially black??????

Danny Manning??
Damnit! I was just gonna post a pic of that Danny Manning.
Says the person who is QUITE familiar with that approach.
I'll Probably just refer to him as
Daniel Stephen Jones III

"The Duke of Hurl"
The difference between him and Jones is Jones looks may more polished, but Haskins has what a really strong arm.
I think both guys will end up being good players to be honest. Just different styles.
Funny thing about Haskins's really strong arm is during the NFL combine velocity drills he threw 52mph to the left and right. Jones threw 54mph.
The fact that he is considered a below average athlete and slow definitely hurt his stock. That 5.04 he ran just confirmed what everyone knew. Hell, the Eli we saw moving yesterday might beat Haskins in a race. Teams are more wary of QBs that could eat their way out of the league and Haskins will be watched closely for that. I am sure some teams wondered about his weight long term.

Those combine numbers are pretty useless. They measure it one throw and the guys with perceived weaker arms always muster the ball in there to show they got arm strength, while the guys with stronger arms are just trying to throw accurate passes. Everyone already knows they have a strong arm.

that doesn't like the moniker "Danny Dimes"? I've got nothing better, but Danny Dimes sounds like a redux of John's Bargain Stores.
+100. The Danny Dimes moniker is cringe worthy.
I like, Daniel Stormborn - Mover of chains.

Josina had made the comment that the Giants were protecting DJ by having him throwing mostly slants. She countered that Haskins was really pushing the ball down the field and it was an indicator of what should be expected by an NFL QB. She couldn't be more biased in her comments. She doesn't even realize that DJ has a high YPA.
It amazes me the number of talking heads that just make shit up, and then speak it. Louis Riddick tried to make a similar sort of comment, something along the lines of "Giants were setting up Jones for success" and "Redskins were having Haskins push the ball downfield". Comical.
Why would a team, or a coach, set up his player for failure?
I don’t think that there is any question that it is.

Quarterback, built like a tank, big arm, incredibly productive at a powerhouse football school, coached by Urban Meyer, played well in big games - the fact that he dropped to 15 speaks volumes. Multiple teams at or near the top of the first round that needed QBs passed on him, and good teams with aging QBs (Pitt/SD/NE) didn't try to trade up for him when he supposedly "fell" into the teens. Plus, the team that drafted him is the Redskins - it's not like Danny Boy and Bruce Allen have sterling reps as talent evaluators. Clearly there's something amiss with Haskins that made the entire league take notice, and I highly doubt it's race-related.

I think it hurt him also that he didn't even try to run again after the slow 40 time. Remember Jones tried to improve his 40 time. He wasn't satisfied with his intial time. I gotta believe too that Haskins may not have interviewed very well. Remember Haskins was a one year starter also.

Yes if I never hear Danny Dimes again I will be happy it sounds tacky or Cheesey ... Sweaty Haskins isn't exactly taking the NFL by storm . Yet on ESPN the Game recap how Haskins led the skins with three scores comeback win ..
Thats some serious fluff ..
Football at Duke? NFW.

It's definitely a concerted company wide effort on the part of ESPN. Some kind of social justice project trying to promote entitlement.
You're treading on dangerous ground here, and are reinforcing some very unsavory viewpoints. How about just keeping the conversation to sports?
Please please please don't tell the truth or else the narrative we have been building for 60 years could completely crumble
These talking heads will jump through logical hoops to defend their initial assessment of Jones, and it seems they will flat out make shit up also.
The sad thing is that this isn't going to go away. Those that hated Eli day one still ragged on him after he won two championships.
Wait for it, even if Jones is a huge success the narrative with these same people will become that he is "overrated".
They will always find a way to defend a stupid position. People are petty, illogical, and predictable creatures.

How does this guy constantly get away with the sociopolitical commentary?
I think you're giving people way too much credit if you think there is some conspiracy at work...to promote a football player??
Protip: If your entire worldview rests on secret cabals, coverups and bogeymen you might want to consider the possibility that you are in fact living in a fantasy world that you have constructed to reinforce your own preconceived notions.

If you think our current sociopolitical climate just sprung up organically without leverage from the top in media and academia you are blind. In fact it's impossible, how would so many people shift away so radically from what was customary all at once, without any outside influence?
But I don't think you believe what you are saying you are just trying to mock and ridicule anyone that pushed back against your positions. You read Alinsky's ruled for radicals.
"Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."
“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”
I think you are a part of the cabal. Or you have internalized their positions.
I'm not sayin ban anyone that straddles the line and one of the ultra sensitive BBI SJW mods gets butthurt over it. Just to be clear.
In due time, they all will eat some crow. Chris Simms stated yesterday his Mea Culpa that he was wrong. He was highly critical of both Eli and Dan. He has since backtracked and has been complimentary of Eli based on his performance in the preseason.
Kellerman has a huge shit burger to eat. Yesterday, he took his first taste. He still has a long way to go.
rookie preseason
I posted a link above to the complete 2006 pseason stats. My guess is Jay Cutler.

He has been consistent since the draft with his over-the-top condemnation of the Jones over Haskins pick. Poking fun at the senile DG. Laughing stock of the league, etc. Yesterday on First Take (it was in the last half hour of the show), there was a segment on Jones whether he should start the season. Guest speaker, Clark, took the position that Jones should be the week 1 starter. Steven A. took the position that Eli is the starter, but eventually Jones would see the field later in the season. Basically, stating that there is value in learning behind Eli. Kellerman still holding on to the position that Haskins should have been taken over Jones acquiesced that Jones has looked good. Of course, he couched the limited praise with the disclaimer that he has played against second string players, non-scheming defense, etc. He went on to say that Jones will be expected to take over as he has no faith in Eli and no receivers (he's still butt-hurt over OBJ).
I don't seek him and Stephen out. It is just the only nonsense on while I'm at the gym. I can't listen to Fox News/CNN. And the Price is Right and The View aren't in my wheelhouse. I could listen to music, but when the TVs are on in front of the cardio equipment, it seems like a distraction to the music. So I listen to the two of them try and prove which one is dumber.

I just don't get Kellerman at all, and I certainly can't take him seriously after the way he's behaved since the draft.

Surprised. Figured you'd be a big fan of The View. :)
I'll Probably just refer to him as
Daniel Stephen Jones III
If that's his name, I'll throw in D-3
Sigh
It's more about the sacks
This is a stupid argument. More top 10 QBs miss than hit. This whole he was taken 6 overall so he better be a HOFer is ridiculous. And it's 6 overall, not 1st overall.
