I take full responsibility for this victory and hereby declare all my Yankees opinions to be correct. Amen and good night. It's too late to see this to the end. (If they lose, I blame Dave.)

Why I oughta...
;)
I started one game thread this year, one of the games vs. SF, and we won! So, techincally, my win % is 1.000 this season. :)
but the key is Paxton. He has a great arm and is capable of being dominant like last night. That is why it is so frustrating when he pitches poorly. This version is the one we will desperately need in the playoffs. Hopefully severino comes back because I dont feel good about Tanaka despite his playoff history.
I just looked at the highlights. To go into their place and smack their best pitcher in the mouth time and time again....I wonder what they are feeling and thinking right now.
I hope the Astros are taking notice too. If Yankees can beat up Ryu, Greinke is next!
You're glad Michael Kay is back? Gardner up with runners on second and third and no one out and he hits a very short fly ball to left and Kay wonders out loud if the runner at third will try to score??? The left fielder would have thrown out the runner by 20 feet. Michael Kay and Waldman and Sterling are an absolute embarrassment to have as your announcers when you are the biggest sports market in the country.
yes indeedidi, hopefully Paxton gets on a roll.
No first inning blues as well!

Without a doubt. Changes the whole team's attitude during the game -- have to live up to the pitcher! (Went under last night after the glorious fifth and sixth, thinking, dully, that the win was well in hand -- as it was.)
But what a night to remember! Great way to end a great trip to Cali. Daughter is a huge Didi fan so she was in Heaven. Hadn't been to Dodger Stadium in over 20 years. They've made some nice improvements. Don't get me wrong the parks like Petco, Camden Yards Coors etc... are awesome , but its also nice to take in a ballgame from one of the old classics's like Fenway,Dodger, Wrigley with all their history. My son is a baseball nut knows about all the players from MLB the Show on PS4. Was dreading facing Ryu for days. I kept telling him sometimes when your struggling it's good to face an ace, wakes up the bats. I like it when the Yanks make daddy look smart!

James Paxton also induced 29 swinging strikes tonight, which matches the major-league high this season. Paxton, Justin Verlander, and Gerrit Cole have now reached that mark.

To each it’s own. Have you listened to other teams broadcast. Kay is better than 3/4 better if not more.
Very true, to each his own. (my text was not meant to criticize you and I apologize if it came out that way). I think that the majority of small market teams announcers are more "homers" than anything else. While I actually think that Kay does a very good job on his "Centerstage" show, as an announcer he has always struck me as more of a fanboy and not a very knowledgeable one at that. Don't even get me started on Sterling or Waldman, who are both a disgrace and if Waldman wasn't George's ex-mistress (and then Mazzili's) you'd have never heard of her.
Apparently, the Dodgers petitioned MLB to wear the regular uniforms instead of the Players Weekend version and were denied - not exactly sure why the petition yet. I saw a brief tweet from CBS Sports on this...
Great Stat from Katie Sharp on Paxton last night Â
last night. That kind of pitching wins playoff series. I think every pitcher in MLB would like to pitch off the Dodger Stadium mound. Seems to be something there.
As far as Michael Kay goes he's in another universe of of homer. He's way worse than a traditional homer. He's a management propagandist. Can you imagine how soulless you would have to be to allow Dolan to use you?
:)
If he can come out angry and aggressive like he did tonight every night, he can be that legit TOR dude.
Ridic.
ARod really bringing his A-Game tonight too. Really enjoying him away from the two turds he is usually yammering with.
:)
Paxton baby

hehe.

Outside of the Dodgers, there is literally not one team in the NL to fear this year. League of dweebs.
Might be the best he's been all year tonight.
The game was too good to go that low.
but true.

Braves (and if Scherzer is ok the Nats can do some damage too)
The Yankees put seven runs and 3 homers on him in 3.1 IP.

Isn’t this his contract year too? I believe he is a free agent after this season. That whuppin didn’t earn him extra dollars.

In 77 IP at home going into last night's game, Ryu had allowed 7 earned runs and three home runs.

A whuppin in an August game is not got to hurt him one iota in free agency, not how it works.
gets big contract with the Cubbies. It only takes one team.
