Had my 1st draft last night, it went almost exactly as I expected with minor wrinkles.

My team (12 team PPR, 6 pt per passing TD, QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, Flex, DEF, K)

QB: Luck, L. Jackson
RB: Chubb, K. Johnson, Balage, Rojo
WR: Thomas, JuJu, Kirk, Shepard, Sutton, Dorsett, Coutee,
TE: Engram, Herndon
DEF: CLE
K: none yet

Not deep at RB especially with the summers that Rojo and Balage have had, but someone will emerge and they love Balage.

Yahoo gave me an A, even with no kicker, if anyone cares about their robotic ratings, and I knew going in this was the likely team I'd wind up with. I just don't like the lack of RB depth, but in a keeper league this is what you wind up with.

Also, I have droppable players, and a couple interesting names still available like Ito Smith,

6 yards for a passing TD

Really depressed Jackson’s value. Like your WRs a lot. Think Shepard will have a big year. Think Kerryon is overhyped.
Was this your keeper draft?

who did you get at 7 and 11? Looks like JSS was your first pick?

Obviously Kerryon Johnson.

Yes, exactly. JuJu at 7 and Kerryon @11.

Draft went like this:

DJ
Adams
Beckham
Elliott

not the order I expected, but all 4 I thought would go close to something like that

then
Mixon
Tyreek Hill

So I had the choice I thought I would.
JuJu
Cook
D. Williams

I took JuJu

Cook went next then
D. Willims
A. Cooper

And at 11 I had my choice of:
K. Johnson
Ertz
K. Allen
Thielen
AB

I debated Thielen and K. Johnson

that's the order they went (I only include Ertz here b/c he went right after me (so 2nd round - keepers) by some guy who was scared there would be a run on TEs
What to do with pick 6

If in that spot, I am seriously considering Chubb.

I think he is that good. And that should be a high scoring offense. I think people are scared by Hun,t but he can't even play until week 10. If Chubb is playing well, I can't see them making him timeshare with Hunt. Also Duke Johnson is gone and there were some reports that Chubb will get more looks in the pass game as well.
If the goal is to win in a league where you have a playoff
robbieballs2003 : 8/24/2019 12:41 pm : link
then Chubb becomes very risky as we have no idea how they plan on using Hunt. Chubb is awesome but if he is used a ton they could reduce his workload especially if they are playoff bound. On top of that, the Browns have incentive to show off Hunt to get something of value for him like a comp pick.
Thanks regarding

Chubb
By the time Hunt i seligible
pjcas18 : 8/24/2019 1:33 pm : link
to play (week 10) it will be about a year since he played a meaningful down of football.

I don't know it's a given he's his old self.

Yes, he's a threat to Chubb's carries so if you draft Chubb you need to plan on another option to at least have when you see the RB usage, but 10 weeks is a long time in fantasy football for things to happen.
Not bad
WillVAB : 8/24/2019 1:42 pm : link
Tough spot on the Kerryon pick. If he ends up being a 3 down plus goal line work back he’ll be fine, but I suspect that won’t be the case unless there’s an injury behind him.
Im not huge on Dalvin Cook
SimpleMan : 8/24/2019 1:45 pm : link
but that long TD he just ripped looked pretty good.

I like Cook a lot and debated him vs JuJu, in the end I think JuJu is a better bet.
Would you drop
pjcas18 : 8/24/2019 1:53 pm : link
any of these players to pick up either:

TJ Hockenson
Noah Fant

I don't want to do this to have a 2nd TE, I'd only do it as a flex

Players considering to drop:

Phillip Dorsett
Chris Herndon
Keke Coutee

and if not for one of the rookie TE's would you drop any of those 3 for Ito Smith?
I'd
Jon in NYC : 8/24/2019 2:00 pm : link
drop all 3 for Hockenson. He's been playing well this preseason and should be one of their main weapons.
I think Sterling Shepard

I love the current value on him. I think he is being overlooked by many and will put up the best numbers of his career this year.

But we aren't talking about week 10. We are talking about weeks 14, 15, and 16. That is what worries me. I can see a lot of pissed off Chubb owners right now bitching about Hunt stealing a TD or eating into his touches. That is all I am saying. Remember, Cleveland has an agenda here with him. They brought him in for a reason. They didn't take the PR hit so he can sit on his ass or watch him leave for nothing. You can bet he will play. How much is the question. I can see them easing him in but they also want to showcase him so qhen he becomes a FA that they hopefully get a comp for him.

I dropped Dorsett, I like him, but with Gordon, Edelman, and White in NE, plus Bennett, Dorsett will have good weeks, but won't be reliable IMO.

And they will want to work in 1st round pick N'Keal Harry and they love Jacobi Meyers.

I think they signed him as insurance against a Chubb injury.

Not sure it was more than that. Has there been a PR hit? I haven't heard or read anything. There should be, but maybe I just didn't hear about it.

Either way, I don't consider the Hunt threat too much when ranking the players.

Maybe it's just me not putting in enough effort, because I also don't look at week 14 - week 16 schedules when drafting like some people do.

Last year my team was stacked, cruised to the semis and lost because for once all my players all shit the bed at the same time.

Brees and Michael Thomas did nothing, Mixon, Chubb, and Cook were all bottled up, Kittle was average.

I got no TD's for the only time all season - or something like that.

I chalk it up to luck - but some people would have maybe expected that based on matchups and drafted differently.

pj, we both got hosed.
robbieballs2003 : 8/25/2019 2:49 am : link
I had my draft tonight. I picked Luck. 5 minutes later (no joke) he retired. I couldn't help but laugh. As you can guess, I was the just getting made fun of all night after that.

Here are the results and background. 12 team, PPR, 6 pts per TD, 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 FL, 1 K, 1 D. This is a deep starting lineup. It was a straight redraft this year but we put in a rule that we have used in the past where you have to keep 1 player drafted in the 7th round or later. Because of the Luck news I had to go with a QB on my very next pick.

Luck
Wilson

CMC
Carson
Montgomery
Darwin Thompson

Thielen
Kupp
Samuel
Valdes-Scantling
Tyrell Williams
Gallup

Cook
Waller

Rosas

Ravens
Broncos
Do I go for another QB? If so, who?
robbieballs2003 : 8/25/2019 3:01 am : link
Brisset?
Carr?
Stafford?
Foles?
Dalton?
Mariota?
Flacco?
Manning?

Or should I look at just adding another RB/WR? Not much left when each team has 17 players. A lot of garbage.

Tre'Quan Smith
DK Chark
KeeSean Johnson

Herndon is available but he is suspended for 4 games and I really don't need a 3rd TE.
I think

I thought it was someone busting my balls

There is a team in my league where a guy (the same one who kept Brady in the 2nd) has 3 QB's.

He has Brady, Rodgers, and Wilson. Rodgers and Wilson have the same by weeks.

So, I'm going to propose a trade with him. For now though I did grab Brissett.

Yahoo hates my other team, but I like it
pjcas18 : 8/25/2019 9:15 am : link
definitely some projection about who will be a #1 WR though.

QB: Brees, Brady
RB: Kamara, Mixon, Carson, Barber, D. Thompson
WR: Diggs, D. Moore, Westbrook, Valdes-Scantling
TE: Kittle, MacDonald
DEF: PHI
K: Rosas

projected to go 1 - 12, LOL.
Would you do this trade?
pjcas18 : 8/25/2019 12:28 pm : link
I send Courtland Sutton and Keke Coutee for Aaron Rodgers and Justice Hill

Well I do think Lamar Jackson will prove to be a good fantasy QB this year. But I'd definitely be more comfortable with Rodgers as my starter and Lamar as my backup like I had planned.

Seconded. I’ve always liked Shepard’s FF potential and love him as a football player in general. He’s going to get a million looks this season and with the oline finally in place he’s going to produce 90-100 catches. He’s always had the ability.
