Little Nicky is wise. It is fucking awesome even if it’s trash. It’s been a while.... I miss Popeyes.
I almost got Burger King yesterday since the wife and kid were down at the in-laws. Logic prevailed and I got Taylor ham w fries and gravy from the diner instead.
spicy chicken guy, but I tried the BK spicy chicken sandwich. It was surprisingly really good. Never had Chick-Fil-A, but that looks like an overrated chain

You’ve never tried it but it “looks” overrated? What does that even mean?

Lol. Maybe all the super long lines I see at every one of their locations are holograms.
Their food is very good and I’ve NEVER Had bad service there. I assume this guy has stock in McDonalds or something.

You like the BK chicken sandwich but you think Chick-Fil-A's wouldn't be all that great. You are so, so wrong.
take it that way, but I still think Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich is better.
Popeye's had a good breading and was more substantial, but the chicken tasted like it was overbrined, almost rubbery to an extent. Chik-fil-A's was good, but a little wimpy, almost lost on the bun. Wendy's seems like a better ratio of chicken to bun, tasted more like real chicken than the Popeye's but still had a good crunch to it.
I used to be all about the Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich Â
6-7 years ago because they were very hit or miss. When they were good they were great but every 4th or 5th trip they'd be dried out and stringy. I did have one a few months back and it was quite forgettable and also smaller than they used to be. No plans to go back. Will give Popeye's a shot - their chicken is excellent so not surprised that the sandwich is getting raves.
Not a big fast-food eater but I have always really liked a Â
This thread is making me think I underrate wendy's. Chick fila is legit. The gf loves shake shack's. I thought it was good but below chick fila. Popeyes is too far out of the way to try, but I keep hearing it's damn good
will be consistency. Sort of like the comments about Wendy's. A really good Wendy's chicken sandwich was awesome, but having a really good one was a spin of the wheel.
With Chik-Fil-A, you are getting the same quality pretty much every time, no matter which location. That will be key to Popeye's

This might be true for most of the US, but isn't the case in the Northeast. I'm familiar with CFA mostly from Florida. I can tell you that the sandwiches in NYC are definitely much more hit or miss than the ones in the Tampa area, presumably because of the volumes they handle.
Typically when these chains introduce a big new product or make a big change to an existing one they send a team out to each location to train staff on making it properly. So it tends to be really good off the bat. But over time the quality tends to decline.
A few years ago Wendys introduced improved fries and they were really good....for awhile. Gradually, the quality declined probably because they let them sit too long or don’t change out the oil often enough. Sometimes you luck out and get good fresh ones. And sone locations are probably better than others at maintaining standards.
RE: Wendy's has really gone down hill since Dave Thomas passed Â
I don't eat there often - still will get a SCS every now and then, but I tend to agree. I don't know if it's related or what, but it does seem that way.
Haven't tried the Popeye's sandwich yet. But I will. Love me some fried chicken.
Service art mine is always sort of slow, but yesterday, after this chicken sandwich business, it was like the world had ended. Line was 20-30 deep, locking down for a long, long wait. Learning, as I did going in, that they were out of the now infamous "sandwich,"did nothing to thin out the crowd. After twenty minutes or so watching exactly two people getting served I quit. Hit Subway instead, disappointed, but sure to try again another day. Popeyes. A way of life.

Ugh.. not Subway!
I am not judgmental at all when it comes to fast food - I limit myself, but I work an unpredictable schedule and can have weird hours, so I'm not above it.
But something about Subway just skeeves me.
As far as subs go, Jersey Mike's actually makes a damn good cheesesteak. I just tried it for the first time a couple months ago and was surprisingly impressed.

McDonalds coffee was pretty sick when they intro'd. But yeah dirt bag execs trying to meet their quarterly goals nickel and diming.

Can't disagree about Subway, but it was a block away and after my mindless, useless wait at Popeye my stomach lost its conscience.

It's not. Friendly, fast service. Excellent sandwiches, salads, sides, and great fresh lemonade and tea. I don't eat a lot of fast food, but when in a pickle this is my go to with no reservation.
funny thing is I don't like their burgers much at all, but everything is solid for fast food of course
Spicy chk is fantastic. They brought back the spicy nuggets too. The fact you can get any of those other sides. I'm sure the chili is trash but love it (and put it on the sandwich or make chili fries...). Salads are really really good again for FF. Frostees, drinks, their specials too. Def my fav if I'm going to the 'usual burger FF'
I haven't had the Popeye's sandwich but they've never done me wrong
I passed by the local Popeyes on Route 4 in Paramus a day back and the drive through line around the small parking wound around the lot and blocked most of the cars from getting in and out of the parking spaces. I would like to try the sandwich but there is no way I am dealing with that.
I am low class and had some chicken at Chili’s last night.

Apparently they are all sold out (nationally). So, you'll have to wait a while.
Prompted b y this thread, I just went out and had a KFC chicken sandwich (Nashville). Real chicken, not that fake kind mentioned above. Not impressed. Bland fried chicken breast with a smattering of tepid hot sauce on top. The pickles underneath were good though.
Haha. I was just going to say that.

People actually allow this snide to slip from their pie holes?
Agree. However, the Popeyes sandwich is pretty good.
The Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich is a lot better. Not even sure it's close either.
You must be fun at parties.

Not because you don’t eat it, but because of the ridiculous hostility you used to attack anyone who does.
You’ve never tried it but it “looks” overrated? What does that even mean?

There's nothing wrong with once in a while not eating great, as long as you don't do consistently.
Sorta like your post.
Chick-fil-A is awesome and I do like the Popeye's new Chicken sandwich, but not as much as chick-fil-a

Better than Chick-Fil-A but because, well, Chick-Fil-A is dog shit, but, still garbage.

And now I see that Subway has their own version. I wonder if I will love that one too?

Especially the BK in Brooklyn that decided it was ok to substitute regular Whoppers for the Impossible Whoppers without telling the customers.
