I realize that, but he's looked significantly better in preseason games than training camp, even according to Sy. So it's not one pass I'm looking at. If you were to analyze both samples and do some sort of comparison there would probably be a significant difference. So I was wondering what caused that. If he had a good, not great preseason and the same training camp I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Jones drops a shot-gun snap, his rough practice continues. As a whole, offense struggling today
Unless he just is a Sunday gamer, it suggests we have been fortunate to not see a bad game from him yet.
My guess is he hasn't seen a lot of disguised coverages in the preseason, but he is seeing some of those in camp from Bettcher.
It could be both. I don't think being a gamer is surprising. How often have you done better in an interview than in practice? He's probably more focused in the preseason than in practice. But he probably IS seeing more exotic coverages which is a good thing.
What Jones has seen in the preseason has been vanilla Â
The jets have to face us this year and werent going to show a thing and Chicago isn’t even playing starters this preseason so they aren’t going to get any complexity. Cinci I don’t know but I suspect more of the same. There won’t be anything to see with NE either. Hopefully Jones will play at some point this year. That’s the first true NFL look we’ll get to see.

It looked like he was back on the field and then promptly left for the trainers?
That's completely normal and has occurred multiple times with different players already in this camp. They test the hamstring and wait for tomorrow to see the reaction.
