I didn’t see this coming. Paxton is right around where I figured he’d be, maybe slightly underwhelming but he’s got time to earn his stripes and his record is good. Happ can still save face but man it doesn’t look good.
Let him get some minor league rehab innings and get him ready for next season. Is he eligible for the Arizona Fall League? Might be good to let him get some innings if he is up to it. Michael King is another candidate for the AFL to get some innings. Both guys should help next year and beyond. Add in Deivi Garcia and, eventually, Clark Schmidt and the Yanks have some talented pitching on the way.
This could be very good.

IIRC it was 93/94 tops, but may have touched 95.
