Eddy is working his way back... did some baseball activities. Took ground balls, hit off the tee, played catch. Still no official timetable, but Boone said he does expect him to rejoin the team at some point in the semi near-future. The cast is off the Parrot.
I believe Voit also homered in his rehab game yesterday.
I don't think there's a bigger guess hitter on the team. Gary seems to make up his mind he's swinging before the pitch is even thrown way too many times for my liking.
Fouled the ball hard off the top of his left foot.
Several blogs on Bleacher report are saying Didi is out with a right shoulder contusion and will be x-ray'd at the stadium. What an F-ing year for injuries.

Btw listening to yesterday's game on Dodger radio on the way to the airport, the 9th inning Charlie Steiner and Rick Monday were as clueless as John and Susan. Charlie acted like they needed to summon the priest for last rites for Muncy, never mentioned once about the timeout and Gleyber rounding 3rd issue and at first didn't realize Gardy might be safe.

Haha, that's great Stu. You painted a better picture of that listen than Sterling does with the action on the field.
RE: In 3 years of awful strike calls that was the worst Â
wide for Kershaw...2nd strike to Urshela in the other batter's box.
You'd think with the technology out there and electronic strike zones looming plus all the talk about them, these umps would do thier damnest to get better and put that talk to rest. Instead it seems they get worse or just don't give a shit.
Beat Kershaw where he WAS unbeatable. Great pitching from all four pitchers, great defense and doing what we do best, hit the long ball. Great to see this team rebound after the debacle in Oakland.
The family really enjoyed it Friday night. The kids said it was their favorite game ever live (of course my daughter bein a huge Didi fan helped). Hadn't been there since 96 and they really made improvements. The concourses/conscessions are great. They have these self serve kiosks where you order the food and pay for it yourself and then they bring it over at another window. Way faster than any stadium I've been in. They need to bring this system East. Of course the scenery and sightlines from the upper deck there are excellent. Was a great night.
X-rays were negative, he is listed as day to day per Boone.
.
Aren't we all day to day, LOL.
Good series win, they needed a Ford, not a Chevy or a Buick.
A pleasant surprise off the bench.
That curve that Kershaw hung to Judge was quite possibly
the worst curveball I have seen this season, just hit me!
I love how Twitter exploded with "WHY IS HE TAKING OTTAVINO OUT?!!" after two batters to bring Kahnle in against the lefty... and all it took was 3 pitches to understand why.
Kahnle has been fucking tremendous this year.
And what else can you even say about Ottavino. The guy throws a wiffle ball that is almost impossible to track. The delivery and release point is nearly identical; and yet the break of the ball near the plate is too hard for hitters to pick up. They have to basically just guess. Usually they guess wrong.
Great bounceback series. Guess the usual suspects who whine about the pitching won't have much to say after 3 fantastic performances in a row by the staff and bullpen. Paxton and German were both excellent - and if we get to our "A" relievers (Ottavino, Kahnle, Britton, Chapman) with a lead, good luck.
More 10pm games coming... ugh. Can't wait til we're back home.
After I bashed German the other night. He proved me wrong tonight and I am glad he did.. he should be the starter game 1 of the playoffs.
Probably game 4 after Severino, Tanaka and Paxton.....
I don't think Sevy is going to get a game 1 start because he will need a lot of bullpen innings behind him. Given that the minor league season only has a couple weeks left, he doesn't have time to build up a significant pitch count- he might only get 2, maybe 3 rehab starts before the minor league season and playoffs end. That MIGHT get him to 45-60 pitches- not enough to go deep into any start.
My best guess right now would be that the Yanks would use Tanaka in any game 1 as the playoff experienced SP, go to Paxton in game 2 for a sharp contrast, then go to German in game 3. Then, game 4 might be Sevy as an opener, followed by a long guy (CC?) and the bullpen arms. Just a guess, but its probably the most effective grouping.

I agree with just about all of this Rich except I think they'll want to throw German at home. I think it'll be Tanaka, German and then Paxton in game 3. Or if Paxton lights it up the rest of the way similar to how he pitched the other night I can see him flipping with Tanaka.
being the "long reliever" after Green is the "opener". Lets Green power through the top of the lineup and lets Sevy come in and gain momentum against lesser hitters.
I believe Voit also homered in his rehab game yesterday.
Both 1B's are getting closer.
Hopefully they can pull this one out after the bullshit from yesterday.
House money.
One pitch. 1-1.

Shoulder where he got hit, no?

Was the shoulder...better than a foot.

I'm wrong. It was Urshela who hit himself in the foot. Didi was indeed hit in the shoulder. Sorry!

Unreal.
Great play
Too bad Gary was in the field. If only he had any redeeming qualities like a heat seeking missile of an arm.
Great play
It was. Injuries certainly phase the injured, though.
As Ford doesn't wait 3-1
Perfect example of next guy up.
Haha, that's great Stu. You painted a better picture of that listen than Sterling does with the action on the field.
You mean Judge swinging at the slider?
Boy have they abandoned the patient hitting approach of the first 4 months of the season.
Probably precautionary. They can afford to be quick to get treatment to prevent it getting worse.
I'll have no problem seeing him on the bump in the playoffs.

He's certainly showed that today out there.

I don't think he even needs to throw the FB anymore, that change up is so nasty.
Yup. Had to be the easiest inning by a Yankee pitcher this year. Considering who he faced made it even more impressive for me.
Yes!
So the take 2 of 3 from the Dodgers at home, but lose 3 to the As...
Bill2 was saying weird stuff happens to them on the West Coast.
This flushes the nightmare series in that Oakland shithole right away for me.
I love this team.
Sometimes the do, sometimes they don't.
Dodgers didn't look so hot to me. Indians and Astros are better than LAD.
On to Seattle!
Probably game 4 after Severino, Tanaka and Paxton.....
The bullpen dominated the entire series. 9.1 IP, just ONE hit!
I always enjoyed Dodger Stadium when I lived out there. It's a classic.

That’s baseball, Suzyn.
...who throws a LATER breaking curve ball than this guy? Whoa, that is one SOB pitch to try to hit!!!

As older stadiums go, I like Dodger Stadium and also
Kauffman Stadium in K.C.

The Dodgers series should show that not only can low-scoring games happen, but that we can win them.
Just a fun team to keep watching.
