i didn't defend what he said. read what i wrote above. but having a hot take about gottlieb's character is no better than having a hot take about Luck's reasons for retiring. Gottlieb is in a tough business and he tweeted something dumb for attention. I'm telling you i met the guy and he seemed like an ok dude. do we really want to be judged by the worst thing we did when we were 19 or a dumb comment.

Paterson referred to Aikman as the idiot in his retraction. So he retracted his comment about this being a free speech issue, but you can tell he empathizes with the millennial comment. Which isn’t inconsistent with other opinions he’s expressed on this site.
