if you compare it to the NHL Center Ice package or MLB Extra Innings.
For NHL Center Ice, I get all 82 NHL games for all 31 NHL teams (other than local games) for $165 - MLB package is similar for all 162 games for all 30 teams.
I've never even thought about calling and begging for a discount for NHL Center Ice because it's just so affordable.
Yet, when I was a DTV subscriber I begged for a discount every year (and usually got one). Now my Sundays are usually filled with hockey games since I coach my youngest's team so it's not worth it to me - I don't even have DTV anymore.
and the rep seemed to have no idea what they were doing. Offered me $5 off the sports package. I asked what is included with that. She said "yes". It was a very trying conversation
how anyone can say Sunday Ticket is a "complete ripoff"
Not worth it in your opinion? Fine.
Complete ripoff? Yeah, no. If you have the time to watch more than 1 game a week, it's a tremendous value. 17 dollars or so a week (if you pay full price which I haven't in years) is a good deal. If you go to a bar to watch all of the games your bar tab is likely to be double or triple that alone each week.
It's easy to call it a "complete ripoff" when you compare it to other TV content and their respective prices. I can't think of any other service which such a massive price tag and such a short period of actual content.
Unless you can DVR the games, it is virtually impossible for someone to watch 6 simultaneous games on any given Sunday.
I DO understand the nature of the beast here and anything is "worth to money" to the one spending the money. But an apples-to-apples financial comparison? NFL Sunday ticket is a financial rip-off.
early next week. It’s a bit of a painful process but somewhat satisfying when you negotiate a good deal...
Same here. I tried yesterday and got nothing. I'll try again early next week. I legitimately may cancel my DirecTV services if they dont hook me up with a good deal.
Over the years, I have scheduled disconnects a couple of times Â
Told them I am getting a much lower offer from Xfinity and would rather stay with DTV but am willing to pay the fee and disconnect if they cant make me a reasonable offer. I was very polite.
within 5 min was offered free Sunday Ticket. I accepted immediately... I def could have got more but I was happy with the free ticket.
have been doing this every year for the my entire contract. Some years are harder than others but I always get something... Sometimes you just need to schedule a disconnect and call back another day.
Last resort (I had to use last year)... they are petrified of folks "cutting the cord"... Just request a disconnect a month out and when they ask why tell them you are cutting the cord...
more hassle free than last year. Got $70/mth in credits which rolls over what I had previously for next 12 mos plus NFL Ticket Max free for 2019 season.

It's not a rip off for people who live out of area - I would probably spend twice as much in a bar to watch Giants games than I would paying for NFLST and watch at home
And they gave it to me for free. I simple asked what they could do for me being a long time customer. No threats to cancel.
lucky you.. I have tried and tried and got nothing.. SO I just cancelled sunday ticket..
How long have you been a customer?
You should definitely get it Free this season. I've been a customer only 1 year longer. Call again and ask what they can do for you as a long time customer. Ask for the loyalty department.
Once you get to the loyalty dept. tell them the truth. "I had to cancel ST because of the cost and I really missed it. What can you do for me, a long time customer?"

If I were a Direct TV customer and didn't have it I'd give them a call. Wonder how Mook did this year?

Have you bought it before? That should be more than long enough to get the free offer
