@AdamSchefter: The Next Chapter: Antonio Brown and GM Mike Mayock got into it Wednesday, and the team is now planning to suspend its star wide receiver, league sources tell ESPN.
We've all heard the reports about this drama over the summer, and they barely touched on it. Instead we got shots of AB hugging it out with Gruden and running in his pool. A major missed opportunity for a supposed "reality" show.
They are going to end up cutting him and he is going to get to keep all that guaranteed money for doing nothing. Nice little con.

#Raiders WR Antonio Brown and GM Mike Mayock got into it earlier this week, and it got ugly. Mayock clearly frustrated with AB posting his fine letter on Instagram. And now, a suspension for conduct detrimental could mean losing $30M in guaranteed money.

Don't forget all those scenes where he was complaining about new helmets. That was really riveting television right there.
Didn't he do some crazy shit before the Burfict hit? I don't remember if the social media incident filming Tomlin in the post-game locker room was before or after the hit.
Yeah, he was a diva and ran his mouth in Pitt about his contract and other things. When it came to on the field he always produced. Was it ever this bad? Maybe Pitt coddled him and kept things quiet? Who knows. But this full on blowup with Mayock is an escalation of negative behavior imo.
"Planning to suspend" and suspended are 2 different things Â
Agreed. Loved OBJ’s talent, but glad we parted ways..Of course the Skins or Cowboys, will probably go after him
this thread is about Brown. Beckham is a different case completely
Not at all. Not in terms of disruption. That’s why OBJ is no longer a Giant. AB may have a different disruption going on, but team disruption that appears to be irreversible, is team disruption, regardless of type
OTC says $15m but I can't quite explain it. His $15m salary is guaranteed this year and next so I think it's next year's accelerated salary counting in this year?
This could very well be one final warning shot of get your shit together and start becoming part of the team or you're in deep shit...
Right. It could be just a series or a quarter.
Gruden needs to win. That can't get lost in this chaos. Chaos, ironically, he helped create by trading for this circus. I feel fairly confident Mayock would not have pulled this trigger if he had full delegation of authority...

The issue is the Raiders have the final say on what goes into the show so they're not going to make it look like the mess it is.
Anybody catch hard knocks when Gruden is just screaming for mayock who looks like a scared dog. Just rubbed me the wrong way. I feel bad for mike who seems like a good guy

Feel bad? He signed up for that gig didn’t he? Players don’t have a choice where they’ll play, prospective GMs do.

Yeah, just looked that up. My bad. But not surprising that the Raiders OK-ed footage that shows Gruden knocking wood and counting backwards from 100 by 3s instead of anything with actual drama.

I think there would be another $15M in dead cap money that would accelerate into next year's cap for the Raiders.
Does he not have anyone in his inner circle who can just slap him across the face and tell him to just shut up and play football?
I can't imagine Drew Rosenhaus is OK with this. He might be the only one with the ability to get Brown focused on playing, at least for the short term.
Wikipedia is, at the moment, on the case with updates to Â
Secretly employed by the Chargers to help ruin the Raiders , despite the fact they don't need any help with Chucky at the helm. He also went 10 rounds with AB in his office. A lot of punches thrown however, business was not boomin'.

Like I said this could easily be a public warning shot to Rosenhaus and his handlers to get him in line before he finds himself in serious shit.
This guy is off the reservation.
Good for Mayock.

You mean from three years ago?

There was something I saw on the internet that says this could be related to Burfict knocking him out cold with a hit to the head.

I believe there was an article that laid out how all of his nonsense began to start after that hit. I don't remember where I saw it.
Maybe that was his angle all along.
I think it's $30...?
Maybe the Raiders are setting this up so they can get
the signing bonus back...

Why would they cut him when they can keep suspending him for conduct detrimental and recouping his money?

Just cut him. What a disaster this guy is.

All I know is that WRs tend to be the nuttiest with egos the size of Texas.

TO's idiocy may start to look reasonable.
And for all those that thought Pittsburgh did not get enough in return....

He pushed them to do it. Wasn't their choice.
On the other "here's your fine..." -Mayock
