Fantasy Football thread 09/07

for a guy that won’t play, or won’t play anytime soon. I don’t love any of the players but they will have solid weeks throughout the season. But you’d have to drop 2 players so that’s a factor too.

Who would be the players dropped? On its face, it looks like Team 2 is getting more than a ham sandwich for Brown. The danger of Brown being a complete bust is sky high.

I have choice of following for flex:

Tyler Boyd at Sea
Philip Lindsay at Oak
Dede Westbrook vs KC
Evan Engram

Most of the experts at fantasypros.com have them starting in that order.

Would i be crazy if i started Engram?

Not because im a homer. If you look at the last 4 games of last year, he was Eli's #1 target and he scored 18.5 (.5 PPR) pts against Dal the last game.

I like his matchup/potential more than the others. Lindsay had a poor game at Oak end of last yr and Boyd's #s were down when Green didnt play.

Any thoughts?

I'm probably going Ekler. When he gets 10+ touches he generally produces and that seems like a lock. Oakland is a total unknown and Denver has a good D.

I'd go Ekeler against Indy

Getting prepared to lose a lot of games now. Not sure my glut of second tier WRs is going to make up for his production.

Yes - i would. Waller will see a big increase in targets and has had a great camp and preseason.

I got offered AJ Green for LeSean Mccoy in a .5 PPR league.

My WRs are OBJ, Lockett, and MVS. My RBs are CMC, Carson, White, Guice, Singletary, and Penny.

Thoughts?

He got grabbed once the AB news happened this AM (I hadn't heard yet), but I was considering. Thing was I had 2 lottery ticket slots already (DK & JSamuels) and EE so seemed unnecessary. I am a little annoyed I drafted Corey Davis so was considering that swap, but also not sure I need to do that for TE (esp w/ Fitz & TY or Landry as 3-4). Still in 10 team there will be solid streaming options (Rudolph, Olsen, Hooper among others)

Agreed your RB situation is tough though...there's value in hanging on to Mattison since we don't really know which #2s are going to get usage if not be #1 after injuries. I guess the only other Q is who do you have at TE? If you have a #1 you're not taking out, I probably wouldn't

Unless you're worried about coming off injury, you're getting a legit #1 & RZ target once he does play. Agreed there's no definitive timetable as yet I don't think, but the idea of no IR was that he'd be ready b4 week 8

I feel like McCoy is ok, but a tough play w/ all the RBs and targets they have over there even w/ Reid's Shady love, where AJ will get #1 targets once full speed. And I like your RBs - 2 legit guys, a solid PPR / flex, Guice esp w/ news AP might be a healthy scratch, and Singletary a potential #1...that's solid. But WR could use that extra bump w/ OBJ's injury history & still some uncertainty w/ Lockett & SEA's O (run heavy)...and AJ would be that

I decided to roll with Waller and drop Mattison for now. I don’t think he will get as much reps as Murray did in that roll, if cook is healthy then Mattison is just a bench stash. I am actually high on Hill and think he might offer immediate flex. My WR’s are Thmaos, JuJu, M Williams, Ridley. I can always trade one to improve my RBs if need be.

I have him too. I'm a bit more optimistic. Not only because my RB's are really good but because I think he's just too talented for someone not to pick him up. Anywhere he goes will at worst be as bad a situation as Oakland but could be better too. I'm hoping he can keep it together like he did for most of last season with a team that's better run with more locker room leaders than Oakland.

My bad, you did say you had Olsen at TE, so yeah I think the Waller move is solid. Real chance he could be a breakout TE. I def wanted to grab him but he's still a big unknown (and overkill w/ EE already)

I don't get the Hill love. He's #3 on the depth chart and Edwards was excellent last year when he took over the #1 RB job. What am I missing?

sometimes it just depends on what you end up reading. Hell I had one thing say they weren't too high on DThompson because of Darell Williams, which seems completely wrong (and that was b4 Shady of course)

Maybe they are just high on their rook so there's some hype from camp

What would be fair trade if you moved him right this moment?

We saw mentions of JJSS for AB & Conner (a LOT), and Golladay straight up

I'd consider parting w/ say CDavis (or Fitz or TY?) & maybe an upgrade elsewhere given the risk AB doesn't play at all - in this case LMurray for Ingram II...but trades are tough and I realize CD & LM aren't hugely attractive names. Still I wouldn't give more with what we know atm. I'm not itching for this, just was considering what it'd take

I wouldn’t move AB for the offers id get but Golladay straight up is a good one. Most people will undervalue him significantly so I view it as better to roll the dice that he gets picked up in a potentially better or equivalent situation vs sell for pennies on the dollar now for something that won’t move the needle much if at all (like Conner and AB for JJSS). If he doesn’t play a down this season then so be it but in my league at least the offers I’d get one make a material difference anyways so I might as well hold on and risk it.

For Jimmy Graham? Absolutely. Gordon is a surefire first rounder without the holdout. You won't miss Graham...

Graham's got some shots at huge games but isn't much better than what's on FA. TBF mine's a 10 team league so it might be different. You might need someone given HH's injury history but if you didn't draft a 2nd one there's prolly similar (esp since the season hasn't started...a few guys might come out of nowhere)

While Gordon, tho it's not looking good, it's early enough there's a shot. If he does play that's huge mid / late season. Drop him in 4-5-6 weeks if he's not playing, and not necessarily stick to him if I have to cover for other positions b4 then

That's why I was considering AB, similar situation. Right price, it's worth the risk b/c it's a huge boost if he plays...playoffs if not league winning

I'm down to DJ Moore, Dede Westbrook, Watkins, and John Brown. My other WR's are my bench holds who I like as sleepers but wouldn't start for at least two weeks. Moore, Dede, Watkins seem like the obvious 3 to start but Brown vs those Jets corners is awfully tempting. Thoughts?

I like Brown, but it's tough to play a Bills WR. Maybe Allen takes a step this yr in which case who knows, but otherwise I like the other 3 atm

Looks like the Pats may have saved us. I also have DJ Moore, Kirk, Shepard, Valdez-Scantling and Metcalf. Outside of Shepard (I also have Engram though), they're all lottery tickets. Kirk is 100% reliant on a rookie QB/coach, Valdez-Scantling is supposed to benefit from the new offense, I am hoping Metcalf steps in and is a #1 in Seattle, and Moore had half a solid season, some are predicting the same for Curtis Samuel

RW: Run heavy O, uncertain tgts, possible rain. He might use his legs more than usual

BR: Pass heavy O, high scoring w/ NE would bump that. No AB but Conner, JuJu & other decent targets tho they aren't great

it's 14 teams so slim pickings in FA, he's in the top 3 on the depth chart and none of them are all that proven.

doesn't AB bump his value, basically adding to his numbers / TDs even w/ underneath throws?

So while I asked for opinions on whether to start BR or RW, is there a chance you drop / trade RW for TB? Esp in a 5pt passing TD league?

I need to make room for a backup WR on my team but I don't know which bench RB to drop:

Darrell Henderson, LAR
Tony Pollard, DAL
Carlos Hyde, HOU

I'm between Henderson and Pollard because they're both backups. Who between them has a higher potential this year for PPR?

So I ended up trading him at 1 pm for D.J. Moore in one league. Kept him in two more. Unfortunately the one I traded him in is my highest buy in league. I was trying to be conservative, whoops.
