Game 2 versus Dallas last night. The offense was anemic in the first half. If we come out like that again I don't see how this team can win. The offense needs to get on the board in its first drive and keep the pressure on thereafter.
the Giants have been punched in the mouth early and had no response. It’s time to change that. You go right at Dallas and smack their front seven around. Now, they may not win in the end, but it sends a message they won’t be doormats any longer.
could be crushing to Dallas. Think of all the seasons the Giants were derailed. Lots of question marks at a minimum.
Giants need to be very physical in their approach imo. This is a huge game for week 1. 1-0 in the Division on the road really sets them in in the Division.

I'd come out with a 2 WR, 2 TE, 1 RB set and have Barkley and Engram line up all over the place with some 4 wide looks out of that package using Barkley and Engram as WRs. Other times, just Engram split wide. Then Barkley split wide, with Engram offset, run a jet sweep to Engram etc...
Really mix and match that. Allow Eli leeway to audible and put guys in motion etc. Its the Giants best personnel package and it can be used to confuse the shit of Dallas early.
Force Dallas out of what they want to do. Dictate their scheme. Get them off balanace.
This is a huge opportunity.I honestly think the Giants are in a good spot with the way they played the preseason. This will not be the Dallas team you play later in the season. Starters are not ready right now we can absolutely steal this game with solid coaching and mistake-free fundamental football.
DO NOT TURN THE BALL OVER EARLY.
DO NOT HAVE STUPID PENALTIES.
If the Giants do both of those things this will be an extremely competitive me that we could win and set the narrative for the season.

Looking at GB-Chi game, where they didn't look good or play their starters and looked bad in game 1, maybe our good preseason with starters playing a decent amount carries over to game 1.
or has DG and his coaches turned this thing around with two good drafts and a major change in the locker room. Thought we were pretty close to the Boys in the second half of the season last year and think we are better now. Keep the faith.

That's a pretty bold claim -- the Cowboys went 7-1 to finish the season and won a playoff game.
I thought it was a roster maneuver to elevate a Practice Squad player e.g. Conrad for the game.
What would be the time limit on implementing such a maneuver?
Now it appears it was just a move to allow for the signing of a vet in the next couple of days.
What would be the purpose of cutting him before the game if they weren't going to fill the roster for the game. If they were saving the spot for adding a vet next week could have kept on the roster this week then cut him tomorrow.

Because a players (with 4 accrued years) salary is guaranteed if they are on the roster on week 1. He was going to be inactive and released. The giants don't have to pay him since he was released prior to week 1.

Stupar is a vested vet. If he is on the roster for week 1, Giants would have been on the hook for his salary for full year, 900k.
By cutting him, they only take a 90k dead cap hit.
And they may not be in a rush to fill the spot because it just means one less inactive today.

DeMarcus Lawrence just started practicing this week also...
Let's rub their dicks in the dirt!
Their top CB is compromised and the press touts the backups.
If it was Jackrabbit it would have read “Jackrabbit out, Giants doomed.”
Nothing from this week would lead me to think he’s going to be out or even limited this afternoon.
Haven’t heard anything about him. Why wouldn’t he?
Buffalo

Huge opportunity to start fast which has been lacking with this team since 2012.

I think that's a really good question. Not only for this game but for every other game they play this season.

How soon do you declare it “over” and send Jones in? Think back to the season opener in 2004 when we got crushed in Philadelphia.

My opinion would be if Dallas somehow gets the lead up to 17-21 with around 10 minutes left, I’d put Jones in.

It is however the first game of the season, and as it is ever year, guys will play less snaps, including on the Giants.

I really suspect shurmur doesn’t have a concrete plan other than a week to week basis aside from starting 1-3 or even 2-2 with bad Eli performance

Sleeping on what?
A miracle Lazarus pit Eli Manning?
A non existent pass rush
A completely unproven secondary?

It's always about wins and losses. It's how you measure a team's progress.
For some reason this post got me incredibly pumped.
Probably because it shares my sentiments exactly.

EXACTLY....
No pass rush and if Jenkins goes down no proven corner.
This!
Let's rub their dicks in the dirt!
I had a coach who'd say "knock" or "kick" their dicks in the dirt. But rub, eh? Very peculiar verb choice...

A much improved OL - more room for Barkley and more time for Eli
Eli with time will look like himself
A much improved secondary
A much deeper DL
