I know some will say our defense is a hybrid, but all of our best defenses were base 4-3 defenses. I believe Dallas, Philly & Washington are all 4-3. Personally I have always believed that a 4-3 gives a team the best chance to stop the run and rush the QB. (If you have the right players of course).
For what it's worth, our defense wouldn't have looked any worse today if we dragged those two off the couch and started them out there today.
I think those fans are the ones that also wanted and praised McAdoo.

Instead of hiring Betcher you would have hired a coach more amenable to a 4-3. Thus you would have had 2 years to find two DT's. This year-- you could have drafted one. And you could have gotten another DT whether it be draft, trade, or FA.
