Offensive drives 2-9

Les in TO : 9/8/2019 9:46 pm
After the opening drive touchdown, the Giants next seven drives consisted of 4 punts, 2 turnovers (1 on downs) and one field goal. While the Giants defense was awful and reminded me of the 2009/2015 editions, when the offense is stalling and only going 4-6 plays before punting, it does not give the D a chance to reset, get coached up, catch it’s breath. I think we would have lost regardless but if the offense could have sustained some drives and ate some clock the game would have been competitive
Maybe use the best player

In the league a little more. They needed to build off the run. As Parcells would say " 3 yards and a cloud of dust" all these guys try to get to cute. Use your best weapon till they stop it. So frustrated right now...wait all year towatch this shit???
Eli really killed us on that 2nd and 8 play

when he didn't get lined up in time and Remmers false started as the play clock ran out.

We are like Army. We can't handle 2nd and 13.

That was the bad Eli coming out, and it was frustrating as hell to watch.
2-11 converting on third down

And 1-3 on fourth. Not going to cut it
We could have scored

50 points and we would have still lost with the D we fielded today
Not really accurate at all...

The 2nd drive was 6 plays and 40 yards.

The 3rd drive was a dud.

The 4th drive started with a little over a minute left in the half and ran out the half.

The 5th drive was 75 yards and ended in a FG after which Dallas came right out scored in 1:11 after our defense had been off the field fore more than 30 minutes real-time.

The 6th drive was 9 plays and 64 yards which was followed by another defensive breakdown making the score 35-10 and the last points the defense was allowed.

So the offense not giving the defense a rest had literally 0 to do with why the defense was a horrific shit show. The offense and it's coaches botching a couple makable 3rd/4td down situations was the reason why the game wasn't potentially more competitive.

See Ryan’s post. Defense sucked. Playcalling was not good but if it was we still lose today handily.
Because the Cowboys were putting together time consuming, 80+

yard drives, the offense got a lot fewer touches than normal. They had to be perfect, which against Dallas (at Dallas) is tough. They were far from perfect, but given more chances I think they showed they could move the ball and score points. This is all on the defense. Unlike many on here, I don't expect the Giants to be able to score every time they get the ball. I do expect the defense to stop the other team at least every other possession.
As much as I got on Shurmur for not using Barkley

The offense while mediocre was light years ahead of the defense. The offense actually showed promise.
