After the opening drive touchdown, the Giants next seven drives consisted of 4 punts, 2 turnovers (1 on downs) and one field goal. While the Giants defense was awful and reminded me of the 2009/2015 editions, when the offense is stalling and only going 4-6 plays before punting, it does not give the D a chance to reset, get coached up, catch it’s breath. I think we would have lost regardless but if the offense could have sustained some drives and ate some clock the game would have been competitive
We are like Army. We can't handle 2nd and 13.
That was the bad Eli coming out, and it was frustrating as hell to watch.
The 3rd drive was a dud.
The 4th drive started with a little over a minute left in the half and ran out the half.
The 5th drive was 75 yards and ended in a FG after which Dallas came right out scored in 1:11 after our defense had been off the field fore more than 30 minutes real-time.
The 6th drive was 9 plays and 64 yards which was followed by another defensive breakdown making the score 35-10 and the last points the defense was allowed.
So the offense not giving the defense a rest had literally 0 to do with why the defense was a horrific shit show. The offense and it's coaches botching a couple makable 3rd/4td down situations was the reason why the game wasn't potentially more competitive.
