11 rushes
4 receptions
68 total offensive plays. (They all didn't offend me)
That is 22% of the offense involving SB.
I think it should be double that at least.
Why would he not be more a part of the game plan?
Is the coach seeking a new gig elsewhere?
Are they saving him for some unknown reason?
This season is going nowhere. Fast.
...Saquon ran the ball 11 times and was targeted 6 times with passes for a total of 17 plays.
Giants ran a total of 66 plays, thus 25.8% were with Saquon (17 / 66).
All of last season: 382 / 937 = 40.8%.

Shurmur forced those plays to prove that Eli can't execute them thus he needs to start Daniel Jones.

It's funny I realize that wasn't the case but that I'm not going to lie that thought has crossed my mind.

If this is true, Shurmur operates like a lunatic. He is a loser by record as an HC so far and he is paid A LOT to go out and put these guys in a position to excel and win. If he is planning this then he is insane. We know he can't lead a team to a 500 or better record, we don't know if he is off his rocker.
Also, Eli hit Engram off a play action boot to the left for the first TD. Dallas bit coming off the big run by Barkley. As far as Jones, sure he is a threat to be mobile, but in garbage time he scampered on third down past the sticks, but was love tapped and coughed it up.
This team sucks with either QB, at least Jones theoretically is the future so get him some burn now. Likely he gets knicked up and Eli trots back off the bench anyway.
This season is going nowhere. Fast.
Which only reinforces the “Start Jones” hype. If you aren’t even gonna use your best player to take pressure off a 38 year old QB that isn’t part of the future, WHY ARE YOU STARTING THE 38 YEAR OLD QB!?

The alternative is he thinks it will actually work. Not sure which is worse.
The defense was so bad it might not have mattered, but... convert a fg before half to get it to 21-10, and score a td after halftime instead of the fg and it's 21-17 - who knows, maybe we still lose by 3 tds but, maybe Dallas doesn't pull their starters halfway through he 3rd qtr.
Misdirection by an elite running back never seems to work. The Bills tried that with OJ the first year (using him as a decoy) and finally realized that they needed to give him the ball and let him run.

Maybe. But why. It’s not that great a play even when executed well. A Saquon run is a better play.
It's really mindboggling to me that you can't tell that it's not about Barkley and not giving him the ball. It's about an idiotic coach on this particular day who thinks the offense is okay enough to not give him the ball. What's going to happen when they really are playing to win? This isn't about Barkley as much as it's about Shurmur's thought process and philosophy.
I beg to differ, if you keep the game close anything can happen. SB is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. We still probably lose the game by but it may not have been a blowout. After his 60 yard run we pretty much gave up on him. Keeping drives going also takes the pressure off the D by running the clock. Dallas pretty much ran a 50/50 run pass and we were 75% pass. Part of that may have been the blowout but if you are going to run playaction you need to run it and SB was under utilized in this game, you cant dispute that.
You can ignore other parts of the game all you want and pretend they didn't exist. You're just burying your head in the sand. Shurmur didn't use Barkley in an obvious manner a a 5 year old could understand. And his rollout of Eli were mind-numbingly stupid. It's okay once or maybe twice but even then its inst bright. Just because you want to pretend it didn't happen - dont knock us that also want to look at other parts of the game that you want to ignore.

That's genius! Make horrible play calls so that he can prove Eli can't run so we can play a rookie and suck even more! Why didn't I think of that?
We had 2 drives stall because of terrible play calls, both of which they were in scoring position. Nothing was over at this point. Scoreboard pressure is real. Also, these are bad calls no matter what you think the outcome would be.
But then you have Shula, who really may not offer much of an improvement.
You are MISSING THE POINT.
The point is our coach was stupid -- he didn't LEARN from last year. It's so simple to use Barkley but he is THICK. SUre we didn't lose because we didn't give sb touches but it doesn't take away from the fact a 5 year old could understand you give your best players many touches. This guy doesn't understand that.
I'm also concerned that over the course of a season and even into next year our idiot HC doesn't seem to grasp that he needs ot use Barkley. If he is that dumb, how are the Giants ever going to get really good?
And shouldn't this piss you off that he even got hired considering how dumb he might be?
