Giants 2.5 underdogs against the Bills

armstead98 : 9/9/2019 1:24 pm
Vegas apparently thinks Bills are 5.5 points better on a neutral field.
$5 on the Giants

... and $1 on the money line. Free lunch on Monday!
Based on what everyone saw yesterday

i'm not sure why a lot of people are surprised the Giants are getting points

not the guy to make a big deal out of a week 2 game, but this is a big game.
5.5 sounds about right.
NoPeanutz : 9/9/2019 1:37 pm : link
Does anybody here imagine the Giants defense getting pressure and covering Buffalo receivers on Sunday?

Also, will the coaches stop rolling out the QB on short yardage?
I'm more worried about the offense this game
armstead98 : 9/9/2019 1:40 pm : link
The Bills defense is very good, Giants could have trouble moving the ball against them.

Agreed. It's actually a huge game not just for this season but for the future of the franchise. Lose this game and there's really no excuse to not going full rebuild right away.
This may be Eli's last home start.....Eli is going to finish his caree

and of course, it's saying rain, keeping up the same shit as last year where the Jets get great weather and it rains on Giants game days. The fans will be excited to start, if the Giants fall behind early, it's going to turn and get really ugly really fast.
another small scheduling disadvantage for NYG here
bigbluehoya : 9/9/2019 1:44 pm : link
it's a home game against an out of division team, and it just so happens that the opponent played (and won) in the same stadium in Week 1. Basically wipes out what very little home field advantage exists for NYG.

Bills get 2 consecutive road games in the same stadium to open up the season. Confounding.

Homefield advantage is only as good as your defense. Nothing kills a stadium more than having the fans get up and loud on 3rd down and long and the opponent converts. And with all the losing, the fans are just waiting for something to go wrong. It's a vicious cycle. If the Giants defense makes Josh Allen look like a Hall of Famer and the offense sputters, the stadium will only be loud to do the following

- Boo
- Call for Jones

How does this work against us? They still have to travel for a 2nd straight week.

What, they know the stadium better now?? LOL

If you asked the Bills players, which I assume the media will this week given that it's a pretty unusual situation, I'm almost certain they'd say that having played here last week is something they feel is a benefit.

As I said in my post, it's a minor thing, but this NYG team is bad enough that they need every shred of advantage that they can find.

Honestly, Jets historically have had far worse weather. They have had multiple games delayed bc of lightning.
If the Giants defense cant generate pressure
Dinger : 9/9/2019 3:13 pm : link
They'll make Allen look like Jim Kelly. I am wondering how the Giants plan on mustering any kind of rush. Feels like its been years since we had a reliable Edger Rusher and at least a couple since we've had a meaningful sack.
