I too, once was enthusiastic about wins in meaningless games, late season wonders and scrub pickups from other teams.
There's only one way to build: you run as many players as you can through the system and hope you have astute judges of talent to sift through and find some diamonds. Ray Perkins, God bless him, was an astute judge of talent. This guy, not so much.
Forgive me if I am a little jaded at this point.

I hear ya...we all are... but right now, we don't get to celebrate wins. We get to celebrate acquiring another team's junk off of waivers.
...won't help us. We need to draft a DE with our first rounder and a LB with our second.
Locking in what positions you NEED to draft in each round doesn't strike me as the best plan.
I agree, however, moves like acquiring Vernon and Snacks, extending Odell, etc turned out not to be the best plans either. You never really know how something is going to turn out until it "turns out." But when you need something, you need it. And in our case it's hard to deny what we are lacking right now.
I'm not a big fan of drafting for "need" if you're reaching but in this case the need is too glaring from what I'm seeing. I have watched our DLine give up 5-7 seconds to QBs on 3rd and mid to long for quite some time now and it's time to address those positions. I swear I can't remember the last time we took a LB higher than round 3 since Carl Banks. Just off the top of my head anyway.
I do agree though that if we are picking 15th next year and we have a chance to get the best WR on everybody's board or the 5th DE on everybody's board then I'd go with WR. But if only a couple of DEs have gone and we have a chance to get a potential game changer I'll definitely take my chances on spending a first rounder (DE) and a second rounder on a really good LB as opposed to trying to fill those spots by snagging players off of other teams' practice squads.
Thinking it would be see cool to see him in a Giants uniform but not really considering they would actually go and get him. I teach at the high school in CT that Tuzar graduated from. My first year teaching was actually his senior year. He’s one of the nicest kids I’ve ever worked with, he works his ass off, and is an extremely high character individual. He’s also an absolute freak athlete, watching him lift at our schools facility this summer was ridiculous but that’s probably true of most NFL players. He definitely has our school and our small city behind him- great kid, great story and it is truly crazy that I’ll see him in a Giants uniform. I really hope he latches and finds a home here with NYG.

Thanks for the info. This seems like a promising pickup. What do we have to lose?
RE: We are due to get lucky on a junk wire claim Â
... and they do sound like BBI posters, holy mackerel.
You REALLY want to see some comments that sound like BBI, check out a Miami Dolphins board:). OMG...horrible, awful, not existent secondary, players looking at one another asking "what happened, that was your guy...was it my guy???"...NO pass rush whatsoever, etc.....
Against scrubs was very impressive. Steelers scout well at this position. He can't be any worse then what we saw yesterday. It's tough when we all are hoping that this guy is going to be real good.
RE: Confused. Sept. 31 was cut down date. Tuzar was on the waiver list Â
for 7 days with no other team claiming him or was he on the Steelers after cutdown and then waived?
No. He was just cut.
From what I understand, they had to add someone to the active roster to replace an injured player and had to make a corresponding roster move. He was the corresponding roster move. Plan was to get him to the PS but....oh well....best laid plans and all that...

Look, the universe owes the Giants one for Cameron Wake, so maybe Skipper amounts to something. Just keep in mind that the guys he was going up against are mostly filing into Walmarts for work tomorrow morning.

Not a bad idea to pick up LBs from the Steelers. Would not be shocked if their 8th best LB is better than our 3rd or 4th.
Our LBs are lacking.. I like Connely and Davis is a backup, I would defer to Pitt for finding LBr talent. Gettledog will build it right just give him time. Olgeltree on his way out if he plays like that again. he was terrible.

This might be the weirdest schtick on BBI right now. Please stop calling him Gettledog.
this guy ends up starting at least one game before the year ends. He has the measurables (30 reps would have been 2nd at the combine for OLBs + solid 10 yard split), he has the production, just needs to stay healthy.
He dominated lesser talent. I wonder if he could do that against the likes of Tyron Smith? Probably not, right? That’s my point....we shouldn’t be upset we didn’t get any sacks.....Dallas OL is great. Besides, Dallas only had one sack against us. I doubt the Dallas message board is freaking out over just one sack, and our OL is supposed to be far inferior.

Well, it can’t hurt to give him a chance. He looks quick enough in these films.
I believe he made the 53 and then the Steelers tried to sneak him to the PS.
No. He was just cut.
