I think he needs to be the starting 3B come playoff time with DJ at 1st and as it looks now EE at DH.
So Voit is on the bench in your setup?
Yes I think right now he has to be. Gio is a better hitter and IMO they should field their best defensive infield as well which means Gio, Didi,Gleyber and DJ.
It comes down to EE or Voit at DH for me and EE is swinging a better bat. That could change in the next month though and I think they should ride whichever one is hotter.
Yeah he's been fantastic for a while now. This is the guy we traded for and need come playoff time. The guy has great stuff, and his swing and miss pitches are real impressive.
Game 1: Paxton
Game 2: German
Game 3: Tanaka
Game 4: Severino as a 4-5 inning guy, then the pen
Game 5: Paxton
Game 6 (in LCS or World Series): German
Game 7: Tanaka
Without home field advantage:
Game 1: Tanaka
Game 2: Severino as a 4-5 inning guy, then the pen

Game 4: German
Game 5: Tanaka
Game 6: Severino as a 4-5 inning guy, then the pen

that Devers complained about. I'd bet $20 that on the overhead camera it did cross the plate. The spot showed where Romine caught it just off the plate, but 3 feet before where he caught it, it was over the plate.

dp, I'd bet by that time, Severino will be up to over 80 pitches. He was 55 last time. Bet he is at about 70 this time and I think there will be 2 more starts after that.

I could live with that. I like you having German at home no matter the game and it's what I've been saying for a while now. Not only do his stats show he's better at home but I think in a pressure game he'd just feel more comfortable at home as well. Put the guy in the best position to succeed and that's at the Stadium.

If Sevy comes back and dominates then that's a nice problem to have. I'd still pitch him and Tanaka away. Tanaka is the most mentally sturdy pitcher we have and Severino has the most dominant stuff that can shut an opponent down regardless of park.
Paxton being a lefty is more advantageous at Yankee Stadium than on the road as he gets to pitch to the deeper part of the park against lots of right-handed power. Additionally, Paxton would try to neutralize an opponent's lefty power by making them hit the other way, away from the short porch. German is brilliant at Yankee Stadium but gets crushed on the road

Yeah, I like your rotation(s). I'm just thinking we will get more innings from Sevy if he continues pain free. I was thinking German/Sevy combo or Green/Sevy combo last week before the news came back of Sevy doing well.

--I trust Tanaka to deal with a crazy road crowd
--Severino isn't a kid anymore; when he returns he gets big boy responsibility because his stuff can shut down a lineup regardless of location
--Paxton being a lefty should get priority pitching at home, plus his form has improved to the point where he can credibly pitch against another team's ace
--German will be fired up by the home crowd but could wilt against a playoff crowd in Minnesota or Houston (most likely opponents)
He has been, but delivered as usual with RISP! What a season he’s had
Not sure if any HR totals are really valid this year. Can't stand Verlander but he's absolutely right about the baseballs being tricked up
Time for Eddie to send one into orbit
Yep.

So Voit is on the bench in your setup?
He did that in Tampa a few years ago. I've never seen someone hit a ball between the SS and 3B that somehow gets past the LF because it's hit so hard.

Yes to me, unless he starts to hit again. He's hanging in at .270.
EE is just a great hitter. Hard to believe his BA is only about .238.

Not true. JBJ is a very good CF. Many people argue that Benintendi, Bradley and Betts is the best defensive OF in baseball.
Ursh starting to heat up again.

Yep, just leaner. Maybe from the rehab on the hernia...

I don't see how he can be playing with that thing. He does, but it's hard for me to understand why he isn't disabled by it.
