Ogletree

moaltch : 9/10/2019 12:49 pm
I wonder how he feels in the film room when they run the tape of the Cowboys o-line repeatedly throwing him around like a rag doll. And he's supposed to be our best lb.... Have some pride and fight dude.
you should ask him
Dr. D : 9/10/2019 12:54 pm : link
and get back to us.
He might want to talk to the DL
Chip : 9/10/2019 12:56 pm : link
who are supposed to keep the OL occupied so he doesn't get blocked to begin with.
While he has always been an up & down player,

I hope Ogletree's poor performance was due to a lot of rust and getting over injury.

Think Connelly/Davis might be our best starting tandem on the inside.

Yup. Gotta say the strength of our defense seemed to be the 2-3 down linemen: Hill, Tomlinson, Lawrence.

Keep our LB clean
Ogletree on this team

is a wast of cap space.

As is Martin.
Smart teams like the Rams`

look to dump a player like this ASAP. Giants trade both a pick and valuable cap space to add him on board.

Analytics hated this trade from the start. Would've been nice if Giants had paid attention.

probably better than he feels
giants#1 : 9/10/2019 2:40 pm : link
after watching his "coverage" breakdowns.
He still thinks
cjac : 9/10/2019 2:45 pm : link
the Giants can be a top 10 defense
Ogletree balances his lack of ability...
BamaBlue : 9/10/2019 3:04 pm : link
to fight through blocks with a lack of coverage skill. It's Giants linebacker fung shui.
a product of another system

. think about that. we need to draft better, live, and develop our picks. Let's find out what these current picks can do...cleaning the Aegean stables.
He's one of the very worst starters in the NFL

The Giants traded a 4th pick for him and took on his contract. Can you imagine the guy on the Rams side of phone when he had that call with Gettleman? He probably wanted to tell the rest of the staff but decided not to let Gettleman off the phone. Can you imagine the celebration the Rams had when that trade wa announced?

It was no secret how horrible Ogletree was his last two seasons with the Rams. The only team that didn't know was the Giants. These are the kind of trades they made in the 70's.
I was jealous when the Rams drafted him...
x meadowlander : 9/10/2019 3:42 pm : link
...I'm actually shocked by how lousy he can be.

Even if they chose to ignore the analytics, Wade Phillips didn't want any part of him. That should have been enough for them.

And the jury is still out on Gettleman's drafts the last two years. DG receives a lot of accolades on this board and I don't know why? I will applaud him when and if we improve and win. I would not give him a long leash.
