has a different strike zone, but he has called several pitches just off the inside and just off the outside tonight. Those two to Cabrera he called balls, he called strikes on Gary tonight which is why Gary was jawing a bit.

Does he ever have a clean inning? If so I don't remember it.
I get Boone going the route he did tonight and I put this more on the guys on the field than him choosing to play it this way tonight.
When you score as much as the Yanks did tonight there's no excuse for losing. Errors both physical and mental combined with poor pitching will get you beat, even by a shitty team.
We don't need to worry about the Rays. They're not going to make up 8 games with only 15-16 left to play.
Last night was annoying. I don't mind putting Cortes out there and trying to get through a game @ Comerica that Edwin Jackson and his 9+ ERA was starting by using our back end relievers. We just made too many stupid mistakes. A ball that should have been an inning-ending DP wound up an error on Torres and I believe was followed up by a 3 run HR in the very next AB.
The Yanks did a lot of stupid things last night... Loaisiga not even covering home (didn't cost him on that particular play, but...) it was just one of those things.
Sterling said they got in pretty late from Boston. We've seen this before with them... and you'll see it with every team. Sometimes they're just not sharp coming off a long series and travel day.
I don't think they even took BP on the field last night.
It was the same thing when we got home from the WC trip and laid an egg against Texas. (Lost 7-0)
The boys will look more like themselves tonight and we'll get back on track. It's just one of those games. Doesn't even really need to be discussed much.
Chance Adams needs to be dealt for a DSL lottery ticket this summer Â
By our usual trajectory with young pitchers, Lasagna should break out next year. His stuff is better than German’s but I don’t know if he will make that leap. May not be given the chance either, and needs to stay healthy first.
with the dreds pitching, looked like a ST game.
Move on to the next one, in the grand scheme of things,
doesn't mean much. If you are worried about homefield,
Houston got smoked last night.
Lasagna has better stuff than German. He has higher velocity on his fastball, that's about it.
German has better breaking stuff, as well as a change.
Lasagna has an inconsistent slider, and no change that
I have seen. He is what you call more style than substance.

They are winning again. Lead is about to be 7.5 if somehow it’s 4.5 Monday with two weeks to play and two games against them yes I’m gonna start to worry nothing is over yet
Boone not even giving a shit about winning, which is fine with the Astros losing.
He is just giving them all a night off. They got in at 3am. Even the starting lineup is lacking a lot of big names...
Might just go watch the USMNT play Uruguay.
Now let’s win this phecker.
BTW, did you see Ottavino is warming up?

They'll probably score 12.
They're going to need to.
Just picked the wrong team...
Maybe not! Didi with the screaming line drive HR..
Or Raul Ibanez in 2012.
He calls it on Frazier...wtf?
Now Gardy goes yardy for the 3rd time.
Again a weird outside strike given to a Tiger pitcher..
A's now up 19-2 in the 5th.
Brutal.
Abs-o-fucking-lutely.
Yep... I know he wanted to give the big boys a night off, but ...you should win if you score 11 runs.

Otto is good, but he can't be 4 pitch walking anyone in the Detroit lineup. He walks too many freakin' batters.
There will be a few nut-punch losses like this over a 162-game season.
Fortunately the Astros are getting buried, though the Rays are now tied in extras.
