Asshat Info on Tuzar Skipper...

Capt. Don : 9/10/2019 7:58 pm
A friend of mine with strong ties to the Steeler organization had this to say...

Quote:
They got a guy with good potential if he is developed. I think he will see the field for them sooner rather than later. The position coaches loved him. He came from nothing and appreciates the whole process and thankful for everything. Great motor and really gets after it. Plays with good leverage and hand technique but wont blow by anyone. Sets the edge well for a guy his size. See ball, get ball type.

Had to bring in a WR that position group is hurting. Brought Holton up and Skipper on the PS. Wanted to make a move to get him protected but the Giants noticed what was being done and grabbed him. The thought was no one would notice.

Position coaches are NOT happy.

A couple side notes...

He is convinced that AB to the Patriots was the plan the whole time. Thinks AB planned on using the Raiders the whole time with the goal of ending up with Pats. Absolutely convinced. I just rolled my eyes - I think he/they are just jaded.

He also maintains that the feeling in the Steeler organization is that the biggest loss this past year was not LeVeon Bell and was not AB. The biggest loss in their eyes was Mike Munchak. I thought that was interesting.

bout this kid. I know people keep bringing up the 4.89 Forty but Terrell Suggs ran a 4.84. Not saying he is TS but its not all about speed...

If a dline guy is running 40 yards something is wrong

His 3 Cone was 7.14. Seems fine for an Edge Rusher.

People always say this, but dlineman run a ton in the screen game.
Seems like a lower profile X-Man

Small school guy with skills. Difference is he did nothing before his senior year so he wasn't going to be drafted like the X-Man who was known earlier in his career.

Thats bullshit and not at all accurate. A lot of them are already dead when they get here.

That munchak was going to be the Steelers biggest loss. I was hoping that the Giants would bring him in.

Elvis Dumervil ran the 40 in 5.0 seconds.
I know it’s preseason

But Skipper looked dominant at times. I saw a YouTube video of a couple Steeler fans who were saying that Skipper needed to be on the 53 man roster. They were gushing about him. Some basement video show but they loved the kid.
Cool thanks.

To me that write up sounds needed for a good 3-4 DE.

Reese's defenses were stocked with pass rushers that won two Super Bowls. Gettleman decided to take whatever talent was on that D and ship it elsewhere and "rebuild" it. How well has that worked?
He looks like he plays faster then

timed speed. Love that stiff arm to the Oline chest to knock him off his feet. I would definitely give him a shot, nothing to lose at this point.

were apoplectic they let this guy go. Impressive highlight reel from the preseason and the personal bio stuff:

Quote:
Tuzar Skipper went from being in multiple foster homes, having to move to three different high schools, going to JUCO for two years, transferring to Toledo and tearing his ACL senior year, going undrafted and getting dismissed by three different NFL team rookie camps

just makes him easier to root for. Hope he sees the field relatively soon.

Seeing as pierce was a 4-3 MLB and Skipper is a 3-4 OLB/DE that doesn’t make a lick of sense.

And Skipper has 2 inches and 10 lbs. on Pierce.

but I'm always skeptical when one of the feature diagnostics on a player is his "motor."
