I know this may be a little far fetched, but the Giants play the Eagles 2 x in December. If he is still on their practice squad in November couldn't they cut Tanney, Sign Lauletta off their practice squad for the end of the season. If Jones is playing by then get Lauletta some game action and then try to trade him again in the postseason or re-sign him as the backup. At the very least you get some info in the eagles, it's not like Tanney is a big loss or someone you couldn't bring back next year.

I agree. I suspect he did something wrong- something that got Shurmur really pissed off. I have no evidence but the situation makes me think the kid screwed up.
I can just all too easily imagine the Eagles eventually turning him into a 3rd round pick.
