why we brought back Kareem Martin for $6 million this year? He's like our 6th highest cap hit on the team.
What the hell did he do last year to deserve being brought back at that number, or at all????
They would've only saved $2M by cutting him given the dead cap hit by cutting him. They can save $5M this upcoming year which I'm sure they will. Now if you want to ask what they saw to sign him to the contract he got to begin with, that I have no answer for.
but I feel like it is so muddled with the whole Eli-Jones wasting a year of his rookie deal, essentially two years of Saquon for what....being an underdog at home to Buffalo???
It should be Tanny, but thinking Martin to IR. Ending his short lived Career. He will be cut next year for cap savings
Isn't Tanney needed to run the scout team? I wouldn't think Jones does this. He has to master the Giants playbook and he may not know enough to emulate other teams' offenses.
DG and Shurmur going on game 18 of their program. Try employing a reasonable amount of patience in reaching judgements about their rebuild.
And it might as well be game zero. Put the pom-poms down. It's ok to question a franchise that has provided ample reason to do exactly that for the past few years.

Why can't Jones do this? There are several teams around the league with only 2 QB's on their roster. Look at Jax, they had Foles and Minshew on their roster and that's it. What does Tanney offer that Jones doesn't besides experience?
It would force the Giants to play Ximines and Skipper more. Let's face it this season isn't ending with a playoff spot, giving time to the young players to see if they are long term building blocks will pay dividends.

Unless you think you can upgrade over Martin for less than $5M (which isn't necessarily unreasonable), it's important to also keep the dead money itself in mind even though there's a net savings attached to releasing Martin.
And just as importantly, when you make a practice of cutting players before they reach the end of their contract, you remove the opportunity for those players to help you pick up compensatory picks.
Martin may not seem like a huge impact on either front, but in the aggregate, it does matter.

Last year, we held the Cowboys under 300 yards offense in a 20-13 loss. It was 13-3 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Barkley ran the ball 11 times and caught 14 passes. Prescott was 16-25 160 yards.
After 18 games of the tender ministrations of Frick and Frack, how did we do on Sunday?
I was also wondering about this. Maybe they were looking for a specific WR profile to complement the healthy starters and TJ fit that better than Russel

A lot more rookie and 2nd year starters..?
Everybody wants to play the young guys and young guys get picked on and beat up. Trial by fire.

Before you tackle that rhetorical posing - it was far more than 300 yards and 20 points.
I know it won't happen but I hope Tanney is released to make room for Jones.

I'm thinking Martin on IR

Kennard is getting paid less then him..
Wow how this franchise has fallen....
Too bad these games aren't taking place in the meeting room - The Giants would dominate.

He is a Bettcher Boy. All the more reason to hold Bettcher accountable.

TJ is more a route runner like SS I assume.
