I'm looking to do a quick weekend trip on the east coast in late october and early november. I've read and heard good things about St. Petersburg but have never been. Any insight from people who know the area or have visited?

Also open to any other places on the east coast that is warm and easily accessible via plane. Thanks in advance.
St Pete's

Is a nice place. I've gone down twice and had a good time. The Dali museum is great. I've always had my brother in law as a tour guide so I forget a lot of places we've gone too.
Charleston is a good choice IMO and the flight is really short. Good food, good bars, great history. I've also heard good things about Savannah.
What are you looking to do/into? I live in St. Pete Beach

Visited for just a short pit stop on my way to Sanibel....

....this spring.

Had the best Cuban I ever had at a place called Bodega. Definitely recommend.

On our way back, it was so good, we decided to go again but also drove the main drag which featured a ton of stores/eateries/bars and was very impressed!!! Looks like a fun place to live for sure.

Thanks for the reply. Visiting with wife and possibly a 1 year old but may leave with grandparents. How’s the Vinoy hotel? Looking for a nice beach scene and good restaurants/ bars and possibly some other shopping activity for wife. Just looking for a laid back nice quick vacation. Would also love a good spot to watch the giants and games on a Sunday...ideally outdoor bar.

To the previous poster- love Charleston but been there many times. Never been to Savanah but interested. Did you like it?
The Vinoy is nice. Downtown right around the Locale Market

and Beach Avenue you'll find high end shopping if that is what you are looking for. The Locale Market itself is probably worth a look. Football Sunday I'd recommend Parks and Rec, if that is too rowdy for you, the Avenue. Toasted Monkey (which is right across the street from me) is the Giants bar here actually, I think they set up inside, and they have an indoor and beachside bar setup. If you are looking for more beach scene you gotta head to the beach for that as St. Pete sits on the Bay. Bongo's is great for what you are looking for, actually sits on the beach with tables in the sand, usually have a guy or two on the guiter playing beach music. They do a ton of weddings at that hotel. There is so much shit here as far as restaurants and typical vacation shit that if you narrowed down what exactly you are looking for I could give you a recommendation.
If you're into history at all...

...I highly recommend Fort DeSoto Park at the very tip of St. Pete, south of Pass-A-Grille. Beautiful Gulf setting that includes an old-time fort with original artillery still in place.
Saw this and thought it might help

Tyree: A very popular family oriented ST. Pete Beach Hotel

is the Tradewinds. Near the Tradewinds and part of the Tradewinds family is Guy Harvey Resort that has an outstanding lunch/dinner restaurant called Rumblefish.
The Rumblefish has a gigantic fish tank in the dining area and can also be accessed thru an adjoining hallway which leads to an underneath view of the fish swimming overhead. Next to it is the Toasted Monkey, where our Giants group is given our own section to view and hear our game, and you and your family would be welcomed. The Tradewinds would be a great choice. Downtown ST. Pete is easy to get to by car, and the view and restaurants are fabulous. People in our area love it. Treasure Island, next to ST. Pete Beach should be taken in and at night, Rickey T's Bar and Grill has outdoor seating where you can listen to music.
Madeira Beach, after Treasure Island, where you will find John's Pass, that has restaurants and tourist shopping, plus a dock that you can walk on to take in the sights.
