I wanna see what he's got in a prime time event on a big stage. In the end it probably won't mean much to his career just being one game, but a good performance might do a little good for this team.
Last Sunday....this Sunday...every Sunday.....it is time....we can't win anything this year....let the kids play...why we signed Manning for these next 2 years is a Mara mystery to me

but thats not happening. My guess is the Daniel Jones era begins @home against Miami in Week 15. The Giants will have been basically eliminated from the playoffs the prior week in Philly and will limp into Giants Stadium at 6-7.
6-7 sounds promising after what i witnessed Sunday from D Â
Let’s hope at least 2-3after week 5
If we can’t do that maybe play him
Deflated after 1 game is pathetic
Maybe home field and win this Sunday changes my attitude
We once had the first shot at Belichick, but George Young did not like him and preferred, well you know who since I will not dignify his name by typing it.
But have been persuaded by those arguing the point, (It s not about whether Eli can still play, it s about whether he-can win with this team) ...as to why Jones should play.
I find myself wondering if the energy and athleticism brought by Jones might not make this team better right now.
I m certain there are many who would shout down this notion, and I really have no rationale to defend such a position.
But I don’t think it s a certainty that I m wrong.
Crazy to pretend a mobile qb wouldn’t have helped last week. For example the 4th and 1 rollout where Barkley was double covered in the flat. If jones was in either they couldn’t double Barkley to account for jones or he could have beaten the defender to the sticks. Athleticism at the qb position, especially a qb who can run, would help immensely once you pair that guy with a back like saquon. Would slow down the pass rush as well it’s a ripple effect.

I'll wait a couple more games to see because if this defense continues to be epically bad then you have to consider it. Part of helping a bad defense is ball control, prolonging drives and keeping them off the field so much. Jones could definitely have helped in those short yardage situations to keep the ball and convert third downs.
but on that 4th and 2 play why wouldnt the Giants bring in Daniel Jones? Or even some short yardage 2nd or 3rd downs? NO does it and other teams do it. Gets him some real playing time and certainly opens up a ton of options for the offense in that situation. Last thing I ever want to see is Eli Manning rolling out.
originally thought Jones would start against the Jets, but now I'm thinking it might be against the Cardinals on the 20th. Eli's lack of mobility is a real problem. Shurmur clearly wants a mobile QB. That was part of the reason Lauletta was drafted. Jones of course is even more mobile.

Jones mobility so far is running two yards and losing a fumble. When Jones gets in there it won't be pretty.
Maybe you should write John Mara, Dave Gettleman and Pat Shurmur a nice letter?
I did
if this isn't sarcasm, care to share what you wrote?
I average around 1 letter per year to John Mara, the last one i wrote was my disgust with the dog peeing celebration.
I just basically said something along the lines that i appreciate and love Eli Manning but its really time to move on, think about the future and play Daniel Jones.
Also that its sad to watch Eli lose all these games, if the defense is going to be this bad I think playing Eli is just hurting his HOF chances

Well rumor has it that was in part bc Belichick was boofing one of the secretaries in the 80s.
The amusing footnote being the guy they went with instead, R** H******, ended up getting busted later on with a transvestite at one of the Jersey Turnpike rest stops.
NTTAWWT, of course, by all means coaches should get their freak on like the rest of us.

It's crazy to think a rookie QB who fumbles every 10 plays would do better than a 16 year vet. That's what is crazy.
This. All we are doing is slowing his development and the rebuild. This team is going nowhere and playing Eli is just a foolish waste of time.
Just like Mahomes development was slowed? Or Rodgers'? Silly argument. Redskins are not starting Haskins, are they?
Or Carson Palmer, Philip Rivers. Roethlisberger, Mayfield, Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff, and Garoppolo all sat to begin their rookie seasons.
I never understand this argument. If anything history has proven that sitting a QB is actually better for most of them. I think Jones could handle starting now but the Giants are not hurting his development by not playing him.
Completely support trotting Eli out there if we are winning. He deserves that. If we fall 2 games under 500, get Jones in there and try something different. It no longer matters whose fault anything is. What matters is, we invested extremely valuable draft capital in Jones and NFL game experience is what he needs. We need to evaluate him in regular season games(more is better). That would be valuable information going into the 2020 draft. It would at least be exciting. I have watched every game Eli has ever played. I know who is, so do you. He isn't about to get better. Jones in an unknown with tons of upside.
NE isn’t the only opportunity for that.
If they have 2 or fewer wins I think it will happen.
If 3 wins it will depend on how the team is playing.
That’s a lot to ask of a rookie QB on his first start with this team.
But i like the idea you have and not "baby him" and see him vs the best..up in NE. But giants are afraid to hurt their newborn
I’d settle for swapping coaches
I believe this was their first home loss in something ridiculous like 2 years.
Good times.

It'd be nice to swap rosters and coaches with NE. Why not both?

Just as Bum Philips said about Don Shula... "He can beat your'n with his'n, then take your'n and beat his'n"...
Would that matter? Belichek would still be better than Shurmur

Manning has owned New England. Makes perfect sense not to play him. Pffff
Go away!

Oh of course, we're all Giants fans here. Bump it 👊!
I'm an ultimate Eli fanboy and have no problem with him as our starter yet, but I believe that will happen before Halloween!!
