Bettcher - Ballentine continues to work daily and putting himself to compete at CB.....Hints Baker to get more snaps, saying Hamilton will be used in "situations"

Based on DC James Bettcher’s comments, I expect DeAndre Baker to start at corner on Sunday. He said Antonio Hamilton will still be used “situationally.”
Mike Shula says there are conversations in game with him and Shurmur, who calls the plays. Shula doesn’t stick to QBs. He tries to ID things that worked. I asked because of Saquon Barkley touchdowns #giants

Shula doesn't just focus on the QBs during the games and will try to help identify things that are working and/or could work based on formations the D is showing.

Hopefully one of the "situations" in which Hamilton will NOT be used is on 3rd down when the Giants need a CB to tackle someone.

I guess the context of the question is missing, but why would he only focus on the QB? That seems real odd.

I think we know why Hamilton was only used on Special Teams last year.

Always classy to throw your players under the bus. Just say we didn't get the job done and need to do better. Or God forbid take some responsibility yourself.
None of this, "Well, our guys got their ass kicked in the individual battles, what do you want from me?"

How is this at all a bad thing in terms of what he said? Football is all about winning one on ones, anyone would acknowledge that.

deserved to play week 1. He was lights out in preseason and clearly a better player than Hamilton. And Baker missed 2 weeks and should’ve had to EARN his starting position.
So the guy who actually should’ve won the job with his play - deserved to start - barely played.
I’ve lost faith in this coaching staff. I’m open to them winning me back.

I'm less upset with who played and more upset with getting completely and utterly out coached. i'm still pissed off at the second philly game from last year
football is about a hell of a lot more than winning 1v1 battles. When our players are running around like they have no idea where they belong it's weak to simply say we need to win our 1 on 1 battles and take no responsibility for the defenses debacle last week.

When I see this kind of information, I end up coming back to the fact that we have zero guys from the 2015 draft left on the team, and both of the two remaining guys from the 2016 draft are on the side today. F*ck Jerry Reese.
Side note. Mods, please let the Giants management know: GiantSteps is available to play WR. Or ER.

Sterling Shepard (concussion), Cody Latimer (?) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) on the side during the portion of practice open to the media. Obviously a lot can change by Sunday, but Giants top healthy WRs right now: Bennie Fowler, Russell Shepard and TJ Jones.

Sounds like Sterling Shepard made it through yesterday well. Still in concussion protocol and more boxes to check. I’d say availability for Bills game remains uncertain. Remember independent docs must clear as final hurdle if he gets to that point. #NYGiants

Can we please drop Tandy ffs and bring back Zo?
if Shep starts jogging or running hard and has a reversal (symptoms, signs), he has to go back a step in RTP
