I rewatched the game (1st half Tuesday 2nd half last night). We should just be handing Barkley the ball until they stop him 2 plays in a row. Phenominal! But I thought I saw on a couple of plays he missed a blitz pickup. It seemed he waited in the backfield, missed pressure coming from another direction and ran his 'dump off' route. Was I misreading that? Also, with the play action, I felt like he was making no effort at the decoy and if he made slightly more effort you would have had more guys biting. Lastly, why is he banging his head after every time he touches the ball? He can't think he's going to score a touchdown every time he touches the ball. Take it easy on yourself my man. You are the best running back in the league hands down.
QB pressure was the least of our issues.
I guess you may have a point. kind of like lets put Jones in and watch his mobility in action....until he fumbles the ball. Then it'll be, why did we take out Eli?
That said, they're going to monitor SB's pitch count as the team as currently constructed would be wasting him if he racks up 300+ carries and 400+ touches.
Come on man. He had 15 touches all game. He needs to be in the 25 to 30 touch range every game.
SS and CodLat were the two strongest WRs in their respective draft classes. They both benched 20 iirc. Latimer forklifted a defender on the 60 yard SB run.
Of course, Eli rollout 4th and 1 against a hated division rival in a crucial situation.

Eli was rushed a little on both plays but didnt get sacked. The OL actually has me excited about our offense this year.

For all the crap about how bad our WRs are now that OBeckhams gone, I was impressed with Latimer and that sideline catch by Fowler was decent. Maybe they won't get their own commercials but Eli and Jones have some viable options.

Just keep running Barkley 24/7. Then when the other team stops it, the narrative will be why is the offense so predictable.

Which is why we lost. The Defense, of course, but Barkley stopped getting the ball = blowout with our horrible D. The only way we win is extend drives, kill clock, run/pass to Barkley. 15 touches is disgusting.
When the other team stops it, and the Giants coaching doesn't adjust, then your point will hold water.
He's coming off a game where on his second touch of the season he ripped a 59 yard run. And then he got put in the closet for the rest of the game because this coach panicked at 21-7 and went into "shootout" mode.

Panicking can be corrected, isn't he a disciple of Andy Reid? A head coach who has trouble sticking with the run game.
The Giants loudly want to be a run the football team. You get that from the GM in word and in action.
You can't be so quick to throw the game plan out the window at the slightest hind of adversity. Passing is not this team's best option. Those days are over. If you're gonna draft a "generational" player at 2, and trade a top 10 impact player in the passing game for the sake of building around a running back, it's simply not acceptable to quit on running the football before halftime of Week 1. just because you're down two scores.

Yep
Say it for what it is...he's overrated.
What just happened here?

Very good post I don't have confidence in him at all . As far as OBJ goes I think it was the right move have you heard anyone saying we should not have gotten rid of him ?
