Nick Gates at TE

mittenedman : 9/12/2019 7:58 pm
Loved the use of Gates at TE. The Giants did this with Seubert when he was too good to keep off the field.

He put a good pop on DeMarcus Lawrence at the GL which lead to a scuffle drawing a PF penalty. Gates is one of those scrappy guys who will be impossible to keep out of the lineup. Giants had a very good run plan that was working well and they just chose to abandon it. Extremely frustrating because they were kicking the Cowboys vaunted front 7's ass.

Shurmur stole the momentum away with almost unbelievably bad play calling and game strategy, which was a big problem last year too. This coaching staff needs to get their sh#t together fast.
Agreed on Using a Lineman as a TE

That has worked for the Giants since Coughlin. Must be something in the air in NJ.

Who was it... Parcells, who used to call it "heavy jumbo"?

I thought it was Damian Johnson, but I'm probably wrong.
Yes, it was nice

And yes, Shurmur’s calling was questi9nable.
wierd to me that PS insists on calling the plays

he should delegate that responsibility imo

Coordinating the offense and calling plays

are PS' strength.

Would like to see Gates work his way to the starting RT gig, unless they're able to procure a better player before then.

I would also. If Gates can develop into a solid starter at RT that would fill a huge long term hole.
