My neighbors and friends are so into it, all getting together to watch games and getting very passionate about it.
I just cannot get into it. Maybe because my college didn't have a football team. Maybe because the scores are usually lopsided. Maybe because the NCAA is corrupt. I don't know.
Anyone else in the same boat? I would like to get into it...I just can't.
I'll watch an occasional bowl game or the NCAA championship game.
you just described the NFL
Unlike the Giants who I watch religiously and ruin many Sunday’s
Also, once you follow for a few years you know the players coming into the NFL, which makes the NFL more enjoyable

That's another thing. There's no way I'd miss a Giants game, but I want to have a life during the weekend so I do most of my activities on Saturday.
It's incredible how much better the athletes have gotten at all division levels. There is talent literally everywhere.
Similar to me. I enjoyed college ball before I moved to ATL but now I just love watching SEC conference play.
Still like NFL more but its close.
Go dawgs'...
blasphemy
CFB was way more of a "flip through channels and catch a random game that's close" thing for me as opposed to appointment television (although when Rutgers was good, they were definitely appointment level TV for me).
I live now, it’s great. You go to a sports bar on Saturday and there are groups gathered around TV’s rooting like crazy for their favorite team. Love it.
But college football I only still watch my fave team. No I interest in most other games. While NFL I watch any team if in mood.

But now I get into it. What’s good is that I’m not devoted to a specific team so if it is a beautiful day, I’ll just skip the afternoon games

Lol I run into this problem...I separate my life down here into two seasons, football season and beach season.
On Saturdays, that's CFB. *grin*
However, ill say this: I really think it depends on where you live. Some areas are CFB hotbeds, and some are decidedly not. Growing up, NJ was not. Living in FL for 25 years and it certainly was! Now in CO, much like NJ, Pro Sports dominate the landscape.
If truth be told way too many colleges at any level are ripping off students, families, donors, and taxpayers. I’d love to see much of the tax breaks of the non profits, not just colleges, be removed and much more. Perhaps this is a political thread but i think readers can use their judgement.
Mara, Roselle, Tagliabue was light years ahead with Super Bowls, sudden death playoffs, wild card, symetrical competetive divisons, etc.,
Army is my team, I love the way they play. Their version of the triple option is awesome to watch when they are firing on all cylindars. I said this on another thread this week, but it is old fashioned, smash mouth football and the only other way to enjoy that today is to watch old games from the 1980s on YouTube. Thank goodnedd for the Black Knihgts of the Hudson!
no way no how. (I'm obliged to root against Bama now).
You mean Clemson?
PS Pats will win the Owl...again.
anyone watch Army and Michigan in OT last week, that was an excellent game

Watched VA Tech and Furman and the ref tossed a flag and the replay showed jack. If they weren't flagged, they would have had a chance to win with some time left. So yeah, pretty shitty seeing that.
Most hardcore college football fans that live in the big conference areas don't care that much about the National Championship in comparison to winning their conference, especially in the SEC.
I have similar feelings about the pro game.

Real playoff system. And the all the different conferences etc. too much going on.

That’s just bullshit. So fans of Alabama and Georgia don’t care if they win the National Championship as long as they win the conference? Come on now. Ludicrous.

Have you lived in the area? They put more weight on winning the SEC. The conference is more important to them.
I went to quite a few Clemson games last season and they frankly blow away most every other sporting events I have attended.
maybe because it's entertaining?

Not so much. Especially not now with the playoff system the NCAA set up.
As a Georgia fan I can tell you we want the National Championship...and if that means beating Bama along the way then so be it!
